Same here in NYC.  I brouight my mum plants inside - don't think they would survive 50 mph winds and heavy rain.

We had an absolutely beautiful Friday for late fall in SW PA.

That ended today. We've had rain all day.  Not really overly cold or windy.  So I guess its heading eastward.

We're finally getting some real rain. My water garden is down about six inches, so I cleaned out my rain barrels yesterday and once the rain starts to fill them I'll sneak out in the rain and transfer water from them to the water garden to top it off. It only takes about a quarter inch of rain to have the three rain barrels (each of which holds 30+ gallons) filled to overflowing, so I'll sneak out when they're full and take the water a couple of gallons worth at a time to the water garden to top that off. It'll be a bit of a wet and windy day outside for me, but I should be able to top off the water garden with rain water this way.

Atlanta checking in.

We had the rain yesterday that the NE is getting today.  Really heavy in the mid and late afternoon. It was 60 degrees I think.

This morning, the rain has stopped, but it’s gloomy and very windy (gusts to 40 mph predicted) and it’s 36 degrees!

I’m not a fan of winter at all.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: The Rain is Coming

[ Edited ]

I'm in a burb of DC and we are expecting the same here also but they said it will pick up steam as it heads more your way.

Yesterday I began my cocooning mode - made sure there was something in the freezer to make a comfort food meal today, pulled out a book to read and I'm ready to hunker down.  I usually do this once Thanksgiving has passed and winter begins to really rear it's ugly head but this situation seemed the perfect time to begin this year!
