@PINKdogWOOD wrote:@Nancy Drew My feeling is I CAN find everything here on amazon for much less, free s/h both ways. Works for me!
Not so! Maybe you CAN find it on Amazon but NOT always for much less. I am noticing more and more....rip off prices on Amazon just like ebay.
My daughter is prime and the last 4 orders did NOT come in 2 days either.
Case in point: Just last week
I ran out of Goya barley (my favorite).
Wegman's (all stores in my area) & Walmart (as well as .com) do not have Goya barley anymore.
Not a problem....I will just order from Amazon...
$18.99 for a 16 oz bag of Goya Barley! Are they nuts!??
I found it at a different local store for $1.69 for a 16 oz bag.
This is not the first time Amazon prices have been jacked...just my most recent.
I have learned never to trust them until I research thoroughly.

@SahmIam wrote:@RespectLife Right off the bat, Le Mertier. The one product shown is an old TSV. They used to have 23 products offered; the line was pulled more than a month ago. When this sells out, it's gone.
I use Le Mertier so I was sorry to see it go. My info comes from CS as well as the Le Mertier corporate CS. The article is dated 4/30 but the line left early March.
So did Edward Bess, btw. The other two, I didn't do a recent check on those. Le Mertier and Edward Bess are high end and it was great that QVC pulled them in. Now its either It Cosmetics, Mally (which isn't really Mally) or some other brand you can find at Ulta.
It wasn't me asking about the lines on Beauty Q...it was @sunshine45
I never watch Beauty Q so I have no idea what is or was carried.
I think you meant that response for Sunshine 45 ![]()

thanks @SahmIam
yes, i noticed that le metier only has one product online. i never saw that presented. it is quite possible the research for the article was begun in the past month or so and it was on its way out as it was being written. the other lines mentioned have multiple products available. edward bess was not mentioned in the article.
it is also difficult to know if qvc dropped the brands (quite possibly for poor sales) OR if the brands dropped qvc.
i have seen so many complain about pricing on these forums that i would think that higher end beauty products have a tough time here. the one le metier item has some excellent reviews though.

@sunshine45 You're welcome. : )
I always wonder what happens when lines are dropped. Le Mert sold out quite often and the reviews were good so you would think they would keep a line especially at that price point. Same with Edward Bess; he offered his new products here first which I know ticked off his SA's at his home store (where he started his line). Still, it brought customers TO them as clients discovered his line and wanted more personal help.
Of course, what we think may be logical and obvious doesn't mean the same thing to QVC corporate, lol. Who knows the why's and the wherefore's; I'm just tired of seeing the same old thing on air when I DO tune in, you know?

I like QVC. I can order from Amazon, but I'd rather order here. Here I can learn a lot about the item, see it in use - or in the case of a fashion item see different ways to wear it, and talk to others who have bought it to see if they liked it. I have found some of our favorite recipes from QVC hosts and vendors.
I enjoy watching most of the hosts, and even though I don't know them, there are some I can relate to.
I started here a little over ten years ago just to get Birkenstocks. Then I took a chance on Mally and Laura Geller. I was watching a high school football game and talked to a mom from the other team. She is the one who got me to take a chance on other QVC items. Once I discovered the forums and found what others recommended I was "all in." I still am! ![]()

Thanks for sharing @sunshine45.
Beauty iQ, eh? Interesting!! Good for them!
I have shopped since CVN and spend WAY too much money w/ Q, but I just couldn't stick with the Beauty Q and never watch it! Have never purchased one thing through that channel....even when my favorite vendors are on it...I just don't watch. Dislike the format, camera angles, music, graphics, not my fav hosts...everything!
Seems they are reaching the younger audience they intend! Excellent!
My daughter is a you tuber...she sees things she likes from IT...and has me order them on Q because of the better values. SO SHE SAYS....it is REALLY cuz I don't ever ask for her payment! LOLOL !!
@RespectLife I don’t watch Beauty iQ either. I even have all three channels now, on Roku, but I am still not tempted to go back.
Your last paragragh cracked me up! ![]()

Oh my gosh, yes! Excellent point!
Not only does Q have great recipes but the monthly Recipe Game and Potsticker Soup threads have given me VOLUMES of recipes!
I could make a new dish every night for the rest of my life and not make all I have saved!

I do not need a "relationship" with the hosts or vendors... I want low prices, deals ,coupons, free same day shipping free returns.....NOT EASY PAY.
Amazon works for me.

Admittedly, Amazon has many more products than the Q. It's superiority ends there as far as I'm concerned. Cases in point:
First, recently my "prime" account ended and they would not sell me the product without me having to cancel it, then re-registering, and reordering it at a higher price. I passed. Now I hear they are raising the price of prime accounts. I will not be using Amazon again.
Second, several years ago I ordered a computer screen filter from them, never knowing it was a third party vendor. I received the screen filter and it did not fit, so I had to return it. However, Amazon would not handle the return because it was a third party vendor. They had no information on this vendor and there had been no information in the package when I received it as to where to send returns. There was a phone number and I tried to call them and the phone just kept ringing . . . and this went on for days.
I had to investigate myself via the post office where this item came from. The post office suggested that I "return to sender" and to insure it. I'm thinking, there's no address on the package, so how can I "return to sender?" But thought maybe they had some way to find the sender via their tracking system.
Turns out there was no physical location at all for this vendor. Then the post office said they had to do an investigation before they could reimburse me and it could take three months. After not hearing from them for more than three months, I filed a complaint with the post office. Again, I never heard from them and never received the item back. When I called them, they said they had no record of my complaint. This was the U. S. Post office!! Where the item ended up, I will never know, and I just gave up. I lost $90 and the cost of the insurance on this debacle.
Ever since, if I see something I like online, I order ONLY from the manufacturer, or the well known company offering the product, has it in stock, and it comes from them! I've been very successful recently with Duluth Trading and Anthropologie, ordering direct. I also had great luck ordering several Nike products from ******'s Sporting Goods, who not only had a huge inventory (more than Nike itself) but was offering huge discounts (which Nike wasn't).
[BTW, all of this ordering was for three birthdays, a wedding shower and a wedding coming up . . . nothing for me, boo!!]
Back to the topic, with QVC, the return process is solid. The prices . . . not so much, I agree. However, I have never been unable to return something in the over 25 years I've been a customer.
ETA: Ha ha, I see the asterisks! The name of the store rhymes with Mick's.
