I don’t need a relationship with my vendor. As long as you’re  a reputable vendor.  Just get me my stuff quickly, have what I need with a decent price and with free shipping and I’m happy.

You are right, offer me items for a fair price, and get them to me fast as possible . I will have social interactions with actual friends.

Everything now is an "experience" .... come on.   DV dancing around after gulping food is a waste of precious airtime.  Perhaps an experience for him, but NOT for me.

Well, whoever wrote the article should have checked up on their facts because a few of those beauty lines left QVC more than a month ago; which makes me wonder what else is not exactly accurate in the article.

I spend far more than $1200 a year at QVC; if you buy any kind of jewelry, you're going to. Or, if you purchase clothing/shoes from specific vendors, as well as house items...yeah, it adds up to a few thousand easily.

I haven't called in to order in....geez, I don't remember the last time. I do believe QVC and HSN are very smart to focus on their online presence as the bulk of consumers shop that way.

As for Amazon, I don't support the company in any way. The moment I hear another company has either joined forces or been bought out, they lose me as a customer. I sincerely hope neither QVC or HSN winds up in some type of a partnership because I'll hate not being able to shop with them.

@SahmIam

as far as i can see, all of the beauty brands mentioned still have products available on qvc. which ones were you referring to?

I read the whole article.  Very interesting.  Over 400,000 customers is nothing to sneeze at.  It seems the Beauty iQ channel is becoming the cash cow for QVC.  It’s bringing in more customers, and younger customers because of the YouTube beauty blog craze.

Thanks for sharing @sunshine45.

@Caaareful Shopper

Beauty iQ, eh?  Interesting!!  Good for them!

I have shopped since CVN and spend WAY too much money w/ Q, but I just couldn't stick with the Beauty Q and never watch it!  Have never purchased one thing through that channel....even when my favorite vendors are on it...I just don't watch.  Dislike the format, camera angles, music, graphics, not my fav hosts...everything!

Seems they are reaching the younger audience they intend!  Excellent!

My daughter is a you tuber...she sees things she likes from IT...and has me order them on Q because of the better values.  SO SHE SAYS....it is REALLY cuz I don't ever ask for her payment!  LOLOL !!

It isn't really much of a social experience anymore.  It may have been a social experience when the hosts addressed the audience like normal people.  Seems more like a cartoon now.

@faeriemoon

i think when they are discussing the social experience it is referring to the TOTAL social experience that they offer.......which includes these forums.

it also includes facebook, instagram, twitter, contests, AND the television/online viewing customer.

Re: The Quiet Sea Change At QVC...the "anti amazon"

Hey, I appreciate both experiences; just transaction vs relationship with vendor.

I don't mind developing a "relationship" with vendor if is worthwhile to my purpose which is in depth information about the product I wish to purchase.

QVC rarely does that anymore, in fact much of the time they seem to purposely avoid that with on air nonsense and droning on with the same info when they could be giving more specifics.

Re: The Quiet Sea Change At QVC...the "anti amazon"

@RespectLife  Right off the bat, Le Mertier. The one product shown is an old TSV. They used to have 23 products offered; the line was pulled more than a month ago. When this sells out, it's gone.

I use Le Mertier so I was sorry to see it go. My info comes from CS as well as the Le Mertier corporate CS. The article is dated 4/30 but the line left early March.

So did Edward Bess, btw. The other two, I didn't do a recent check on those. Le Mertier and Edward Bess are high end and it was great that QVC pulled them in. Now its either It Cosmetics, Mally (which isn't really Mally) or some other brand you can find at Ulta.

Re: The Quiet Sea Change At QVC...the "anti amazon"

@Caaareful Shopper Bye Bye Chico's.

You have to be careful about which brands you stop buying as often, it's a third party seller. I've seen many lines that are sold via another vendor or from China and when I ask about it, they're not happy to find out. It could be old stuff, over stock, etc. but if the store actually joins up and uses them as a selling platform....yeah, no business from me.
