So how about the traditional Holiday Office Pot Luck lunch? Do you dread it or look forward to it?
I HATED it because I was usually busy and it was such a bother to make something and drag it to work. Then there was the person who usually signed up for "pickles" or "cups." The rat, and got to the list before I did! ![]()
Also, there are sometimes people whose food you'd rather not share. . . enough said about that!
SO what is your experience with these occasions? Any funny stories to share?

I used to enjoy them, then there were several news reports about church potlucks where people had become sick, someone actually died.
You never know what's coming out of someone else's kitchen.

Those were the days I scheduled as vacation days.

I was never a big fan. Not to insult anybody who enjoys this, as I do understand that. But I'm far too food-neurotic and skittish about food to eat just anything.
Plus, when food 'sits out' it rather skeeves me out just by virtue of that one fact, anyway. Needless to say, you don't see me at a buffet restaurant, either. ![]()

Me, either @chickenbutt Those sneeze bars are a joke, and I've seen people reach in and grab food with their hands.

I was never a fan of those. I have no idea how that food was prepared.

Me too ! It took me several years to figure it out, but I finally learned how to get out of a lunch i didnt want to participate in.
One supervisor had the gall to assign all the women to clean up duties one year. When asked why no men had to help, she said "women just make things nicer".

I haven't worked in a setting where potlucks happened in a long, long time but they were never my favorite dining experience.
Blech.

I was never at ease eating food that arrived at work early in the morning and then sat around until the lunch
potluck party!! I was really picky about which food I did eat. People thought I had allergies and rather than be a 'DebbyDowner' about the event, I just never clarified the issue with anyone.
