I have been telling friends for years that we need to build more hospital ships.

Governor Cuomo is a credit to the state of New York and to the country.  His leadership has helped to fill the void.  We hope and pray that that our shortages in hospitals can somehow be ramped up to protect our brave health care providers and save American lives.  My hope is that truth and responsibility prevails.

The person Pam mentioned seems to take a no nonsense approach, which I like. He's not trying to score brownie points as far as I can tell. Even the way he responded to his sister who was overreacting to a health issue, made me say "right on" ( and I haven't used that expression in decades)! He basically told her to chill and follow his dad's advice to go to your room and come out when you are better.

Re: The Mercy and The Comfort

They are both undergoing maintenance right now.  One should be ready in several days, the other will take several weeks as per MSNBC just now.  Also they must be loaded with equipment which must be obtained, they are not equipped for severe ICU cases, and they must find find experienced medical personnel to staff them, many of which in the past have been civilian volunteers, retired military and others.

So all this may not all be accomplished with short timelines that may be approaching.
