Guess I won't have to expend any money to catch up with this trend: http://www.foxnews.com/health/2017/02/21/in-latest-beauty-trend-women-are-tattooing-freckles-on-thei...

I'm already peppered with them, although mine have faded some over the years.

I have to agree. There are other more subtle ways to make yourself beautiful. This is a pretty drastic and permanent beauty trend!

I agree that it's drastic, but permanent is questionable. The artist says it lasts 3 years. It may feel permanent compared to the trend it's addressing, but sounds like it's not permanent in general.

It seems strange to me, though. Women are putting on enough foundation that their own freckles don't show, then drawing them back on to fake a "natural" look. Others are covering up completely in makeup, then drawing freckles on because they have none of their own. I feel like the tattoos are just going to get covered by the same makeup that's covering up natural freckles. Seems like it would be easier to just wear less foundation/concealer.

@ChynnaBlue ... I must not have read the entire article. I didn't see where it said it would only last 3 years. That is good, because these gals might change their minds.

There is a lot of facial tatooing going on these days. My sister just had permanent eye brows and eye liner tatooed on her face. She is thinking about getting a little blush also. IDK...it's not for me, although it might be nice to look beautiful when you wake up!

Re: The Latest Beauty Trend

[ Edited ]

That's about as crazy as I've ever heard.  I was born with freckles- saved a bunch of money and no pain..  I get tat's and all (I don't have any) but when it comes to the face, well I'll keep that to myself.

Not a good look.

I can't help but think...these gals are in some sort of 'profession'

which their clients like the look of 'fresh-faced innocence.'

That's all I'm saying.

When I was a little girl, I hated my freckles so much that I tried to "bleach" them out by putting lemon juice on my face! Now, I embrace my freckles, even though they have faded some. They add a little more color to my face.

It's not for me, either. I'm way too non-committal for permanent ink. I've thought about tattoos many times, but it always comes down to the fact that I've never been able to pick one thing I want to represent me forever.
