I like the newer older ladies show - Hot in Cleveland.
Very funny women.

Seriously... Decades now of television available, and we see endless reruns of the same four of five sitcoms, and most of them aren't even among the better ones.
I know. I guess they do that because the ones always on are the most popular.
Unfortunately I think the world is too PC these days for Archie Bunker and Maude even in reruns. I think Norman Lear was one of the funniest writers ever but I don't think his shows would ever see the light of day today as timely as they still are with the topics they touched on.
People with their "PC" complaints make me laugh. All in the Family is on in my area all the time.
So is Maude.
Many of Norman Lear's creations are still on MeTv and AntTV (Antenna TV)

@Shelbelle The character or the RL person? Because Betty White is no babe in the woods in RL.
Betty and Bea didn't get along off screen but Betty and Rue were close.
And none of them cared for Estelle Getty at all.

Oh, I love the Golden Girls and still watch them every chance I get. In spite of their off screen problems among some of them they sure hid it well on air. It was and still is a very funny show.

I also love the Golden Girls then and now. I once met a lady in Florida who looked so much like Rue. She was lovely. She said many people told her that. In airports especially. Nice complement!

I love the Golden Girls!!!
I once saw an interview with Rue, and it was so strange to hear her speak without the southern accent. She was so good at it, I guess I'd always assumed it was natural.
I really like Dorothy, probably because I can relate to her the most. But Blanche was the best-dressed character.

@Cakers3 I didn't know that! I don't think I have AntTV but I think I may have the MeTV channel. Now I'll have to look for it when I get home tonight.
Funniest line in a scene ever:
Maude talking to her husband who is being an egotistical jerk declaring himself King of his Castle
"You know what, Walter, the last King in this country was Kong and they shot him off the top of the Empire State Building." ![]()
