@goldensrbest Yes, like many many families, the children were just people influenced by the times and pop culture.  Dysfunctional families exist.

@Puzzle Piece    My intent was not to offend anyone, but that's just how I look at things and thought I'd express my opinion.

Did anyone see President Reagan's son from his first marriage?

I thought I saw him, but if it was, he has aged a lot the past few years.

From what i have heard  from their daughter, she felt kind of left out, because of how close nancy and the president was.

@blackhole99 Much of Nancy's expenses were paid for by others.  You can reasearch the info.  I ask, if not here in the USA, then where would someone spend any money on a former first lady.

Why would her expenses be paid by others? They were wealthy.

@JCF

I read somewhere that he was traveling in Asia.  It did make me wonder what their relationship was like.

i enjoyed the readings, the remarks, the music. the setting at the Library was spectacular.  this was a funeral befitting a well known, very active wife of a president of the United States. she had many friends - from both sides of the aisle as was obvious. and i am glad the rain held off until it was over - but am loving hearing it pit-a-patting outside as i write this.

I wish the camera would stop cutting to Patti and Ron Jr.  They keep making a point to cut to them when they start praying.  Ron Jr. Is an outspoken atheist, and it looks so disrespectful that he isn't praying along with everyone else.

That son Ron Jr. has always been an odd ball.  His words and his sharing was odd but I think the others like so many just ignore him.

Neither child had a good or close relationship with Nancy.  It was always strained. I think Ron has been very respectful to his Mother in each interview he has had. His being an atheist is his business just as someone who professes their love for God is their Business. Is he suppose to "fake" pray for the cameras? I would hope not. I do not think Nancy would want that either.

I didn't see it but you would think he would at least have the decency to bow his head, out of respect for his Mother, if nothing else.
