The bottom line is the article in question pretty much agreed with your POV DooB. So, I don't get you disdain for it.

i'm guessin it wasn't the message...........it was the messenger...............................raven

Wrong, again. But I do think in your case that is the problem here. Were I here with a "new" name, posting an argument against Noel, instead of being me, in agreement with her, I suspect your view would be different. C'est la vie.

HA...........now you're wrong............she and I had a meeting of the minds a few nights back...........yes it almost killed me, but some ground was smoothed none the less.........so you are sorely wrong................................................raven

Re: The Chicken Recall Is Serious

It's pretty bad when one has to practically wear a Haz Mat suit when dealing with poultry. I don't rinse my chicken, stopped doing that a long time ago. I do pat it dry with paper towels and I'm wearing rubber gloves, wash my hands thoroughly when done.

I returned my chicken to Costco today and received the full refund. The woman at the return counter appreciated that I had double bagged the pouches with the price easily viewed without removing them.

<br /> Lumming's article was from the CDC.

Hi, Scottie! Actually it's an opinion piece on a coupon website. Someone's interpretation of what they read from sources like the CDC and others.

ummmmmmmm not it's not, it's an article from Medical News Today.......now that other site may have copied and pasted it to their site............gee where have we seen that done..................by the way I put "opinion piece right along there next to troll................................................raven

I didn't see any credits for another author, just some sources cited (listed at the bottom), so perhaps they did a cut-and-paste and added their own comments also. As for opinion pieces, they can be very different from scientific or carefully researched articles. But then, I come from both an arts and a science background, so I can appreciate both. That's why we all (including moiWink) have to be careful when we read from the Internet.

Just how many times do you need to remind us of this anyway?

I don't like handling raw chicken. I've got surgical gloves somewhere for art projects. Maybe I should bring them into the kitchen.

Preconceived notions of others is what kills any open communication here. Sad really.

I know, kdgn! When I first read the article in the OP I read some of the comments, and one of them was the remark that when we have to treat our food as hazardous materials it's time to step back and reflect a wee bit.

I do. They're inexpensive at Costco and I use them often.

I'd rather handle chicken, and safely at that, than pick up a piece of liver.

Gross !

I don't allow liver in my house. If the spouse wants liver and onions, we go to a neighborhood dinerSmiley Happy
