Damien Bichir is the male lead, I thought the season two opener was a little slow until they introduced the female cartel 'fixer'. Holy heck she's down right scary, lol.

I loved this show last season and couldn't wait for it to come back. I am having a hard time following it this season so far. It seems rather choppy to me.

Last night's episode was even more bizarre than usual, but I'm hooked on this show.

Me too!! I actually live very close to "the bridge" and have actually been to many of the areas where scenes are photographed! But so far this year...the show is lagging and a bit off center! Hope it gets more focused or viewers will be gone. If a show loses that main theme, the viewers stop watching. Last year the focus was the murders of so many females in Juarez, but in actuality, the murders have gone down significantly!! So where is this show really going??? And, really there are so many other good shows throughout the TV channels to watch...lots of competition!!
I have been seeing PBS ads for the real "The Bridge" series, the original, 2011 show. It takes place in the Netherlands where a dead female body is found on the border between Sweden and Denmark. The US/Mexican story was a take off on this first one!

I watched it last year, but have lost interest this year.

I totally agree with you! The focus doesn't seem to be there -- at least so far! It's all over the place. I think they have too many characters and probably too many subplots (of which I don't completely understand) and at present it is not really cohesive to me. Maybe they are trying too hard to keep up or outdo their stellar first season!
I really enjoyed the shows last year because they had, as you posted, a main story line and everything pretty much revolved around that. Also, they delved into the lives and personalities of the main characters, which was fascinating.
After quite a long absence, they better hope that their loyal fans have patience and hang with them to see how this all pans out!
I did not know that this was based on a prior series!!!

The basic premise was the same - dead female on the border between two countries, Sweden and Denmark! The blonde detective in the first series also has Asperberg's autism. The issue is also about a killer; he kills several people and is not leaving many clues. The episode where the newspaper writer is "locked" in a car with a fake bomb also happens in the first series. I think they speak Swedish and Danish in that show...imagine there are English subtitles. I have not seen the show, but do think it is out on DVD.

That tattooed Mennonite cartel lady, Eleanor, is downright scary, for sure! She's like the stuff of your worst nightmares!

Have the cops discovered the murdered people out at the model home yet?
It seems like the timeline of events is jumping around or something.
