several hundred......for business AND personal.

Me and my husband each have a Samsung Galaxy 3 and love to text. It's more private when he's at work on a break and same here when I'm out and about. We do not text while in the car and we both inadvertently have received texts while driving. That was something I discussed with him early on....do not text while driving ever!!!! It's not something just kids do!

Unfortunately, my children and grandchildren use texting as their main communication method. I would much prefer emailing or even phone calling, but it is what it is. So I text a lot and dislike it very much as I have a seven year-old flip phone. I am going to have to update pretty soon, because I can't see the letters on my phone anymore. I just hate having to spend the money on something I really dislike doing.

Ford....we both had razrs for years and it's much easier to text on a smartphone. There's predictive prompts and all you have to do is tap the words instead of each letter of each word. It literally takes seconds.

As much as I'm having fun with texting I can totally understand that having to text long involved conversation and especially on a phone that isn't user friendly would make it no fun at all.

Before we got son's most recent phone, we had to buy a couple on eBay. Might save you a lot of money. We're T-Mobile, no contract, and buy our own phones. Do you have an eBay account? Maybe one of your daughters could help you out IF you don't.

Smartphones are way too expensive, for something I have no use for. I want a phone I can use to call the AAA man in an emergency, not one I can check movie showtimes on.

One or two, maybe. I only text if I absolutely have to. There are those that simply hate talking on the phone so you have to text them. Geesh!

Zero. I blocked texting on my phone to preclude the spam that was starting (and for which I was being charged - gadzooks!).
I have no desire to text anybody. Geez. If I want to drop a line, I email them. If I want to talk I call them. I have enough trouble seeing, to have to read stuff on a tiny screen and I have enough trouble with pain in my hands to want to be using a teensy tiny keyboard, anyway.
For me, the notion of texting is just silly. I don't have to be 'connected' all the time. I cannot even imagine WANTING to be connected all the time. I can see it if I had to be on call or something. But I'm not a doctor.

i do......i have three kids, one in another state in college and two teenagers who are in high school. i also have an aging mom with a few health issues. i want to be there for them 24/7/365 and having cell phones helps us all connect instantly.......via phone and/or text.
....and my s/o and i are separated for periods of time and i like having the instant communication available via cell phones (calls and texts) AND skype.
