@KathyM23.  That was my feeling too when I first saw their alluring Facebook ads.

When you've been around awhile you can easily smell a rat.  The site is owned by the sly Chinese government which. Knows how Americans love a bargain.  What better lure to get their personal information?

@Kachina624     I just have this "feeling" that they are using slave labor.   Ya know....those "groups" they have in concentration camps.    How else can they be selling at such low prices....     di

@Desertdi.  I heard an interesting report over the weekend that said China's  economy is in the sewer.  They said unemployment is very high and they're hustling to improve things.  I don't know how that jives with "slave" labor or maybe it's just extremely low wages and poor quality materials.

I'd love to hear the inside story on Temu.  Guess we never will.

How is Temu different from TikTok? If someone is suspicious of Temu, I would think they'd feel the same way about TikTok. Maybe they do, but why blame only Temu when TikTok also is privy to personal information.

I have never used Temu and don't plan on doing so.

@teganslaw.  I don't use either but Temu gets financial info which is a gateway to acquiring other personal info.

@teganslaw

There's no way I would use TikTok either.

@Mz iMac @Kachina624  Both Temu and Tim Tok are EVIL, IMO of course.

Yes, it is constantly popping up on my phone, trying to get me to download the app, which I refuse to do. Friends have spoken about how cheap everything is on the Temu app/ store but I tell them they are buying from the Chi- Com's  who are selling and probably stealing all their info.  I would think our government would get involved, but then...well there is no telling which side most of them are on!

I don't niece it.  I do believe US retailers are hemorrhaging money to Temu and Shein and there's a converted effort to end them here in the US.  Scare tactics aimed at customers did not work because shoppers know how to stay safe.  So now it's on to phase 2.  I'm sure there's a phase 3.  I will continue buying from them as long as I can because I am savings MONEY.  I recently ordered some Spring/Easter home decor items at amazing prices.  As good as or better than what VPH sells at pennies on the dollar.

My DD made the mistake of ordering from them after seeing an ad on FB.

Everything she received was awful fabric and child sizes. She sent it all back.

No idea if she used the app or not.

You can only shop with Temu through their app.  We only shop with reloadable debit cards that are not linked to our bank accounts.
