Two class action lawsuits have been filed criticizing the lack of privacy on their app.  It's claim that they've managed to access everything on user's devices.  The attorney who filed one of the lawsuits calls the Temu app the most dangerous app that exists.

We'll see how this plays out but in the meantime, be very cautious.

@Kachina624

Thanks for this information!  Thankfully, I have never, and will never use this app or even go to the website.

Absolutely no interest in ordering anything from them either.

My DD made the mistake of ordering from them after seeing an ad on FB.

Everything she received was awful fabric and child sizes. She sent it all back.

No idea if she used the app or not.

A friend came to me all excited about this new source she found for inexpensive clothes and knowing how I love clothes she thought I needed to try it.  She had been ordering from it and said what she received was good.

I took one look at the site and immediately thought too good to be true. Somethng has to be not on the up and up.   Hadn't heard anything yet about the Chinese government, etc. just knew I wanted nothing to do with this site.  It's hard for me to think that people cant see something suspicious about this company.

@KathyM23.  That was my feeling too when I first saw their alluring Facebook ads.

When you've been around awhile you can easily smell a rat.  The site is owned by the sly Chinese government which. Knows how Americans love a bargain.  What better lure to get their personal information?

A couple of years ago my daughter asked to buy stuff from TEMU.  One of her friends introduced her to it.  After looking into it, I said no. Thanks for posting this.  I'm going to bring it to her attention.

How is Temu different from TikTok? If someone is suspicious of Temu, I would think they'd feel the same way about TikTok. Maybe they do, but why blame only Temu when TikTok also is privy to personal information.

I have never used Temu and don't plan on doing so.

My DH has warned me to stay away from this site, and I have listened to him.
