Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8) ❤️

I hope all the teachers out there are feeling appreciated.  😊

I received several sweet emails this week.  Our school's PTO ordered lunch for us to pick up or have delivered from a local restaurant.  The PTO also sent all the teachers e-giftcards.  I even got a sign in my front yard with the school logo on it saying that an awesome teacher lives here.  😂   The lunch, giftcards, and yard sign are such a nice gesture, but the emails were my favorite.  ❤️

Have you heard anything about how Teacher Appreciation Week is being celebrated in your area?

I am not a teacher but I am a speech/language pathologist that works with preschool students in a special education program.  Everyone on our staff received a pint of ice cream of our choosing at a local creamery from the PTA and a gift card from our principal.

@ninjawifeI realize that you work extra hard throughout the year creating individualized lessons and doing lots of paperwork.  I know some SLPs around here have been very busy making videos and packets for their students.  Thank you for all you do and enjoy that yummy ice cream.  😊

Actually I am doing live teletherapy sessions.  I am also evaluating new students and having eligiblity and IEP meeting over videoconferencing.  I am VERY busy.

Oh, my!  Evaluating new students too?  You really are busy!  I have a friend who met with a student through Zoom and she said the parent left the room and the child kept crawling under the table to play peek-a-boo.  She said she had the hardest time trying to get the child to sit back down and do the scheduled activity with her because the adult had left the area for a bit.  I hope you get more cooperation.  😂

My co-workers and I are sometimes having a hard time keeping these little guys engaged over Zoom especially our little friends with more significant needs.

THANK YOU to ALL TEACHERS for the great work you do all year and even more so in these exceptional times!

DH is a veteran teacher, is now teaching online, and will have to read students essays online instead of on paper --a new experience!

Supporting student achievement and success is always the goal!
