Nah, not for me. I'm just too fickle.
Besides, who thinks that much of me to a tatt done about their relationship with me? Nobody.

My cousin does tattoos and I have a very small mermaid on my foot.About 1 1/2 " long. That is enough for me. All the ladies in our family have the mermaid - most on their foot.
eta - she said it would hurt a little so she would put numbing med on the skin first - we all decided we could enhance the effect of that medicine with a good bottle of Schnaups.

Guess maybe that may have been a thought when I was 18 years old, but when I look straight down my arm it is upside down. Maybe my thought was so others would know my name, beats me. I did get it in a spot that has yet to wrinkle, and it is just a wee bit bigger than my forearm.
Might give some thought to having the 🌹 rose colors touched up, but not real high on my priority list. There is a story of why I had it done way back when. Only regret was 2 days later when I was on KP Duty and washing the big cooking and serving utensils. Hurts just remembering that very long day.

There is a 'story' to my first one too.
In my younger 'wanderlust' years, I decided to move to LA, CA and my mother swore I would be raped and killed and no one would be able to identify my body, so she'd never know what happened to me.
So I got my first tattoo!

I don't know anything about Tattoos, because no one in my family has them.
Do they fade over time? It looks like it would hurt a lot. I have seen some huge ones ,and I am always amazed that anyone has the courage and stamina ,to set through that
Some are really intricate. It must take hours for them to do that

This again? I answered the first ten threads on this topic. Lol.

They don't appeal to me. I wouldn't want one but have nothing against others who do.
If you're going to get one, make it unique and one of a kind not something lots of others will have. Spend a bit more and have it designed just for you. I don't like words or phrases. Hearts and flowers are too common.

@Shorty2U I don't regret any of mine, even the ones that more than 20 years old.

For Mother's Day, I had the initials of my two girls intertwined with a tiny heart. It's on my left forearm. When I put my arm to my chest, it would lie over my heart.
I really don't have a problem with tattoos as long as they have a special meaning. I don't like the huge tattoos just randomly placed all over. Obviously, some people like that. I personally don't.
A friend of mine has a tattoo of her son's signature as he signed cards and artwork when he was a little boy. He passed away when he was 21. She has it on her ankle. It says "Love, C****" just as he wrote it when he was a little boy. It's beautiful.
I have a friend whose sister died at age 21 of cancer. My friend has a little signed note in her sister's handwriting on her torso.

Neither do I. Mine were all well thought out and were about what's important to ME.
Nothing 'whimsical' that I would ever regret, mine all have a very special meaning....to ME.
And that's what counts.
