Well, that doesn't make much sense.  Roker and Hall are two completely different people with two completely different circumstances.  Money isn't everything for most people and Hall has been making big bucks for years.  She wasn't cash poor and she's only 40something.  She's is not at the end of her career and she obviously did what she felt because she wants to work.  That's non ego in my world.  It's a work ethic and self respect.  It's also not a big deal.  Reporters and anchors move around all the time.

Yes, agreed, news personalities move around often... As for Hall, you see things in your world your way and I'll see them in my world my way...  And in mine, ego is a factor...

I don't have cable, and don't know anything about her (at all), but the buzz around here is that Megan is making a big mistake.  And that she would have been better staying with cable in the pm.  Just what I've been hearing, though.

I read somewhere (since this story broke) that Tameron had a larger audience than Kelly RIpa.  Woweee.  Think that's true?

I stopped watching Today a few months ago.  Not that I was ever a faithful watcher.

For the last seven weeks, the 9 am hour has been #1 so yes, they were beating Ripa.  I don't think Tamron was just a reader as some of you say.  I've seen her do shows on CNBC, I think the station is, that we're tough news interviews as good as the likes of Anderson Cooper.  She was very good at changing hats.

Ego had a lot to do with her not accepting the new job but also I think it was work ethic as someone said.  By that I mean she wanted to have a job title she would put her heart and sole into and she knew she wouldn't be doing that.  All of them should be prepared to lose their positions at the drop of a hat, though.  It's just sad when it happens in such a sloppy way.  Ann Curry comes to mind and NBC lost viewers because of that.

Ambition or work ethic be darned, I surely wouldn't want the schedule she's likely to have. I get that she'll have other duties, but what I don't get is how going from a prime time news show to one segment of an early morning show is 'moving up'. Then too, I have no unquenchable desire to be a news 'star'.

I only saw her on msnbc and didn't like her much. Prefer Kate snow.  The thing I thought was so odd was that she went on and on about her super close relationship w prince, they spent tons of time together, etc.   and she was shocked about what happened to him.  Seems like she would have had some idea.   ????

If I wouldn't have went through this with a very good friend of mine, I wouldn't have understood it either or probably believed it either. She hid it very well and literaly no one knew. Not even her husband who lived with her. This is pretty common and there are lots of drug addicts who can hid that very well. I would have not realized how common that was if I wouldn't have attended some Al Anon meetings with her husband. There were SO MANY people who attended those meetings who said the same thing.

I don't watch morning shows all that much but what I have seen of Tamron, I liked. Very articulate. She is such a gorgeous woman too.

@Perkup I think the CBS Morning Show is the best of all of them. Interesting and informative without the silliness.

Tamron is such a beautiful woman, she does seem to try too hard sometimes and it's over the top. I wish most people on morning shows would take it down a few notches, but that's just me and my preference.

Ugh I can't stand watching CBS news, especially their morning crew! They definitely need new people in to spice up their early morning show! I exercise in the morning and my tv doesn't have cable so I'm stuck with the only channel I get, via an antennea, watching CBS. Yuck. Also Tameron Hall is lucky to be leaving NBC.

Saving face is worth more than millions to many people. I wouldn't have done that unless I were immediately offered other positions.

I do believe Kelly was being given a lot of collegial pressure to exit.
