My son and I usually watch Jeopardy together while we eat dinner.  I have fun playing along with him.

When DH was alive, we turned off the TV,  if we had labored in preparing a special meal. It was a time for focusing on the meal, relaxing and chatting.

Otherwise, it was TV on for all meals. Now that I'm alone, the TV is company while I'm cooking, or eating. I have a TV in my open kitchen/den area.

I live alone and I only have one meal at home a day due to working so at night I do have my dinner with t.v.  Except football on Sundays, evening television watching is all I do.

if we are eating together then we are either watching national or local news OR jeopardy/wheel of fortune. it still allows us to talk.

Yep, Pat and Vanna are part of our meal "guests"......also the Monday and Thursday Night NFL pre-game crew too 😉

We do at times, but I prefer not to. We don't have a TV in our kitchen, but our kitchen and living room are open, so you can still watch......

It's just me so I take my meal to my Lazy Boy and watch TV.  I doubt I would do that if I were married or had kids at home.

Jeopardy and dinner go hand in hand when it's the two of us.

TV off and we eat at table when family or friends are here.

If we eat together in the kitchen, the TV is on. If I eat alone, usually in the family room, the TV is on.

I love my DH dearly, we've been married for 47 years...but he does NOT talk during meals when it's just the two of us! We do talk at other times, though. Plus, he finishes eating in about half the time it takes me. If he has something he wants to do, I tell him he doesn't need to sit with me while I finish. So the TV is my companion for most meals.

Yes, always, as supper and 5:00 news are just our thing.

I eat alone.  Not complaining.  I have to be physically and mentally relaxed to eat, due to esophageal issues.

I watch tv and for my dinner viewing fare, I keep some silly, fun little game shows recorded from which I choose during my 'dinner' time.   I watch either the Leah Remini game show (love her!), the Jay Leno one, or the one called 'Funny You Should Ask'.

I watch 2-3 episodes of those choices while I eat dinner and it keeps it low key and enjoyable.

I do tend to have a tv on a lot, whether in my living room, my bdrm, or my kitchen, but not all of them at the same time.  I will only have on whichever one I happen to be watching at a given time.    Watching tv keeps me outside my head, which is priceless!
