Same here. Big gifts from Santa not wrapped and under the tree. All other family gifts were wrapped. And our stockings only had fruit, nuts and old fashion xmas candy. Like the colored ribbon and loose hard xmas candy. It was great.

I never heard of not wrapping gifts from Santa. When I was young, my parents wrapped all the gifts that Santa brought in Santa paper or red paper. The only items left unwrapped were big items like bicycles, really big stuffed animals, etc.
I followed this same protocol when my children were young.

Gifts from other family members were always wrapped.
Whatever you decide, be consistant every year.
This how I grew up in the 60's-70's, Santa didn't wrap the gifts. It was fun coming down the stairs Christmas morning and seeing our toys under the tree. One of my best gifts as a little girl was a was a Bride doll standing under the tree.
I didn't wrap my kids toys either because huge kitchen sets, art desks and bikes were hard to wrap.

I hadn't heard of the not wrapping gifts from Santa. I vote for wrapping them.

When mine were that young I wrapped some but not all. Sometimes Santa would just leave a doll or truck or larger items that were not boxed under the tree with a name tag.

In our family, the gifts from Santa are not wrapped. All the other gifts from parents, grandparents, etc. are wrapped.

This thread is fascinating to me. My older sister and I grew up in the 40s and 50s and no one at our house knew Santa didn't wrap his presents - they were wrapped. OTOH, I can see the logic of not wrapping them.
Easier on the parents not to wrap them, but also more fun to watch the kids unwrap - decisions, decisions!

I can still remember seeing the pure delight on my daughter's face Christmas morning when she came down into the living room and saw her new child sized table and chair under the tree all set with her doll tea set and her two new dolls sitting in the chairs all ready for a tea, party. YOu don't get that by wrapping.

I think very young children can become overwhelmed by the sheer volume of wrapped gifts and even become bored before they're all unwrapped. I've known people to have to do unwrapping in 2 or 3 sessions. If you've got a couple of large unwieldy things, I'd leave them unwrapped.
