Re: Surge Pricing for Fast Food

I think with inflation, this move will hurt their business. Maybe, the only food sales will be in the morning. People are complaining about the increase in McDonald's food prices. They are rethinking their pricing.

I don't eat fast food. Most of the time, the name states everything about the quality. It is easier to cook at home and know what you are eating.

Re: Surge Pricing for Fast Food

It doesn't matter to me.  I don't eat fast, or take-out food.

I don't think it is a good business idea to advertise that food will cost more during the busiest hours.

A better idea is to offer discount pricing  during noncore hours. That way you might attract new customers, and not chase the regulars away....much like happy hour.

Re: Surge Pricing for Fast Food

I eat fast food occasionally but have never been fond of Wendy's so I never eat there.  The surge pricing at Wendy's won't affect me but I do believe other places will eventually do the same.

Re: Surge Pricing for Fast Food

I am guessing during the "surge" times of the day, they need more people working to fulfill orders.

So, let's increase prices to alleviate the cost of the additional employees by raising food prices.

In the end, if people wish to purchse that food, they will gladly pay the extra.

I don't eat red meat or fried food. Never eat fast food, so no big deal for me.

Re: Surge Pricing for Fast Food

I heard this on the news this morning too @icezeus. I can tell you that it is a hard no from me, too. The first time I get charged extra $ by a fast food restaurant because it is lunch or dinner time (gee when else would most of us go), it will be the last time I buy food from them.

I don't eat FF that often but once in a while I enjoy getting cheese fries but I can live w/o them.

Re: Surge Pricing for Fast Food

Does not affect me. I don’t eat at fast food or chain restaurants. Their food is ******. Plus fast food places like McDonalds, Wendy’s make obscene profits so there is no need to raise prices.

Re: Surge Pricing for Fast Food

I used to eat fast food once in a while,  but hardly any at all in the past several years. A few months ago a friend wanted to go to  Chick-fil-a. When it was rung up and I saw how much it cost, no reason to eat FF anymore.  You can go to a restaurant for the same and better food for not much more.

Another reason to eat good food at home or take lunch from home.
