Just heard a report on my local news that some of the goods headed to the Hamptons were stolen along the way. Waiting for details though apparently vendors were able to replace some in time for the sale. Nothing about QVC or any specific vendors who were ripped off on the report.

Someone actually wanted that stuff? Now they are stuck with it.

Here is a blurb from Page 6:

Super Saturday went off without a hitch despite a trailer full of goods being stolen, but there were signs of the robbery.

Signs were placed on tables at the annual Hamptons charity shopping bonanza to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund stating: “We sincerely regret that some of our donated merchandise was stolen yesterday. We are so grateful to our amazing vendors for immediately rallying to help us and to all of you for your continued support. Let’s sell out today in an effort to stop ovarian cancer.”

There were a number of empty booths, but plenty to keep shoppers busy.

Host Kelly Ripa told us, “I don’t really understand what would motivate somebody to steal anything, but I would beg them to do some soul searching .?.?. I would hope that they would .?.?. come to terms with their own conscience and do the right thing and give this merchandise back.”

Either way, Ripa was ready to shop. “My strategy is always to get off the press line earlier than I do because by the time I get there, everything is gone,” she sighed. “I’ve resorted to buying husky boys clothing. That’s what I wind up with for myself.”

on Isaac show last nite he referred to not having merchandise at Super Saturday due to the theft. Jackie shut him down (on that reference) and went on to the show. I think he was trying to apologize to the viewers .

Leave it to some jerk(s) to steal from a charity event. That's just all kinds of wrong, even if some posters here think the products were junk.

None of QVC's stuff was stolen. They only bring samples for the broadcast, fulfillment is done per usual -- from their warehouses.

I heard Kelly say they had 4 trailers of stuff for Super Saturday and one trailer was stolen.
