Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Hello my friends! Hope your day went great!! I was going to bake bread today, but felt too tired yet, so tomorrow's another day! I heard by text that my sister, Erma, even went to her great-grandchild's first birthday party yesterday too!!! She is a trooper! Her daughter and I text, she's my Godchild. Such a blessing to know Erma is better!! Praise God! Now Felicia - we all need to bind together and pray for her healing! I put her on the Prayer Line, and more will be praying for her, also still am hoping for Darla's healing too - her migraines, her back and insomnia. We continue to pray. Praying for all of you!

We are judged by our actions, not by our intentions. Lord, may I show

my love for You through charity and goodness toward others.

Scripture for the day:

"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."

~Matthew 18:20

Meditation for the day:

"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."

When God finds two or three of us in union, who only want God's will to

be done, who want only to serve God, God has a plan that can be revealed

to them. The grace of God can come to people who are together in one

place with one accord. A union like this is miracle-working. God is

able to use such people. Only good can come through such consecrated

people, brought together in unified groups for a single purpose and of a

single mind.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may be part of a unified group. I pray that I may

contribute my share to its consecrated purpose.

My New Coat, God

I have a new coat, it was designed by God and given to me by Jesus Christ.

All I had to do to receive this coat was to believe in God's only Son.

I find it fits me perfectly unless I allow myself to become puffed up with

foolish pride, then it's too tight. If I walk with my head high, trying to

be above those about, then it is too short. But if I walk humbly as I should

before God, it fits me just right.

How is the coat made?

The shoulders are wide and roomy so that I can help my fellow man carry his

burdens.

The collar is made of God's mercy, yes, the mercy of God's promises. First

that I may become his child and second, that I will one day dwell with Him

in that home prepared for His saints.

The cuffs are narrow, so that there is no room to tuck away grievance and

hard feelings toward my neighbors.

The pockets are oversized, One is for the love of God; the other is to hold

my love for my fellowman and all humanity.

There are three buttons on my coat, which stands for faith, hope and

charity. I check on them often so that none becomes loose or lost.

The lining is made of God's forgiveness, which I need so often that I want

it next to me at all times.

The belt is made of God's love that encircles me everyday.

The material is thick enough to protect me when the storms of life come my

way, but not too thick that I will not be able to feel the presence of the

Holy Spirit who guides me.

There are many threads in my new coat, but not one thread of doubt that

God's promises are true,

Do you wonder about the color of my coat? Why, it's the color of Jesus' eyes

that must sparkle when a lost soul accepts Him.

I will need my coat all through life. When I travel through the valley of

death and when I view the future, I will always wear my new coat.

Prayer for the Salvation of the World

Father, hear our prayers for the salvation of the world. Grant Mercy to all

souls that turned away from you. Open their hearts and minds with Your

light.

Gather your children from the east and the west, from the north and the

south. Have mercy O God on those who do not know You. Bring them out of

darkness into your light. You are our saving God who leads us in our

salvation. Protect us from evil.

Bless and praise You O Lord, hear our prayers and answer us. You, our

Savior, are the hope of all the ends of the Earth and the distant seas. May

Your way be known upon Earth; among all nations Your salvation.

We put the world in Your hands; fill us with Your love. Grant us peace

through Christ, our Lord.

Amen.

Food for Thought:

IT IS ALL IN THE RESUMES

RE: Personnel Evaluations

Thank you for submitting the resumes of the twelve men you have picked

for managerial positions in your new organization. All of them have

now taken our battery of tests, and we have not only run the results

through our computers, but also arranged personal interviews for each

of them with our psychologist and vocation aptitude consultant.

It is the opinion of the staff that most of your nominees are lacking

in background, education and vocational aptitude for the type of

enterprise you are undertaking. They do not have the team concept. We

would recommend that you continue your search for persons of

experience in managerial ability and proven capacity. We have

summarized the findings of our study below:

Simon Peter is emotional, unstable and given to fits of temper.

Andrew has absolutely no quality of leadership.

The two brothers, James and John, the sons of Zebedee, place personal

interests above Company loyalty.

Thomas demonstrates a questioning attitude that would tend to

undermine morale.

We believe it is our duty to tell you that Matthew has been

blacklisted by the Greater Jerusalem Better Business Bureau.

James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus, definitely have radical

leanings. Additionally, they both registered high scores on the manic

depressive scale.

However, one of the candidates shows great potential. He's a man of

ability and resourcefulness; he is a great networker; has a keen

business mind; and has strong contacts in influential circles. He's

highly motivated, very ambitious and adept with financial matters. We

recommend Judas Iscariot as your Controller and Chief Operating

Officer.

All the other profiles are self-explanatory. We wish you the utmost

success in your new venture.

What if Jesus had chosen the twelve based on the modern methods of

leadership selection? Most of them would have never had a chance to

participate. Jesus chooses people not for who they are, but for what

they can become in Him. Aren't you glad that when Jesus looked at you,

He didn't take you for what you were (a sinner); but He took you for

what you could be? Jesus sees the potential in all of us, and has

called us to be disciples. Jesus is still saying, "Follow Me!"

BEAUTY TIPS FOR EVERYONE!

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness. For beautiful eyes, look for

the good in other people.

To lose weight, let go of stress, hatred, anger, contentment and the need to

control others.

To improve your ears, listen to the word of God. Rather than focus on the

thorns of life, smell the roses and count your blessings, giving thanks for

each one of them.

For poise, walk with knowledge and self-esteem.To strengthen your arms, hug

at least 3 people a day. Touch someone with your love.

To strengthen your heart, forgive yourself and others. Don't worry and

hurry so much.

Rather than walk this earth lightly, walk firmly with determination and

leave your mark.

For the ultimate in business, casual or evening attire put on the robe of

Christ; it fits like a glove but allows room for growth. Best of all, it

never goes out of style and is appropriate for any occasion.

Doing these things on a daily basis will certainly make you a more beautiful

person.

Peace Is Not The Absence Of Trouble But The Presence of God

A CLEAR CONSCIENCE

IN TOUCH Magazine.

"Most of us follow our conscience as we follow a wheelbarrow. We push it in

front of us in the direction we want to go."

"I don't need to read the Bible to know how to live. My conscience lets me

know when I'm right or wrong."

How many people have you heard say something like this? The fact that people

have a conscience—a "little voice inside" that helps govern behavior—leads

many people to believe that they have within themselves the standard of

ultimate truth by which to live.

The problem with this kind of thinking is that it leaves out any need for

God and allows individuals to choose for themselves what is right and wrong.

The truth is, however, that sinful people are not able to make this kind of

determination. Instead, we must rely upon God's Word to be our guide.

The conscience can only be trusted when it is programmed by the Word of God.

Fed by Scripture and supported by the framework of the Ten Commandments, the

conscience is used by the Holy Spirit to act as a type of moral compass.

When we begin to veer off of the course of morality, the conscience sounds

an alarm to get our attention and lead us back on track.

As part of our fallen nature, the conscience is subject to change as

determined by our desires. Place your confidence in the unchanging Word of

God; under its direction, the conscience can become a useful tool of the

Holy Spirit.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for Tuesday

Good morning!

So glad to hear that Erma is doing well. I hope Darla gets relief from her problems. Gloria, I think I smell your bread baking! lol

Harlene...hope your day is going well.

Please keep my cousin Ken in your prayers. He had a heart transplant a few weeks ago, pulled through that but he is having infections that get cleared up and then another comes along. Slowly they are removing him from his meds that keep him doped up. He is confused and depressed, I guess as anyone would be. Because of the infections, his recuperation is slow so it will be a long time before he is completely well. Just say a prayer when you think about it. Thanks!

Also...another cousin, Sandra, had surgery yesterday. They found a huge tumor in her stomach. Thankfully...this may have been her problem all along because the past couple of weeks she has been so sick and in the hospital, the Dr's thinking something else was wrong. Funny how one thing can go wrong that leads to the cause of the problem. Keep her in your prayers, thanks!

I pray for all of our friends here on the positive thread. God loves you and has your back. He will never leave your side.

My daughter and grandsons got home ok, in fact, an hour early. I thanked God for taking care of my kids.

Well...I've got some housework to do but I wanted to stop by and post before I got too busy.

Y'all take care and have a wonderful day. Peace and blessings to all.

Hello everyone -

Felicia - so good to hear from you - keeping you in thought as you recover.

Gloria: Sorry to read Darla is not doing well - I know she has the back issues but adding migraines - poor girl!

This is my first time getting back here - it's been busy with tending to a family matter and I'm feeling a bit down now. It will pass.

May you all have a peaceful evening.

Praying for Ken and for Sandra, for Felicia, Bobbiesue, and for Darla - that she may be relieved of the pain in her back, migraines, and that she can sleep without sleeping pills. Also praying for a young mother who was walking with her kids when bees attacked her and she died. She made it home yet. This happened yesterday. And praying for PEACE in the world!
