Re: Suggestions for an iphone...

Otterbox is the brand name for a phone case.

Re: Suggestions for an iphone...

Otterbox is the best case out there. When I'm toting around an expensive $$$ investment, I want to be sure it doesn't break, if dropped. Haven't dropped it with the Otterbox, but sure as sh*t, once I put on a 'pretty' case, it'll fall & I'll have to live with a cracked screen. Better safe than sorry.

I wanted to get a wooden case...but I bet they aren't very practical.

What do you think?

Re: Suggestions for an iphone...

I upgraded from a 4S to the 6 shortly after the 6 was introduced and couldn't be happier. It IS bigger than my 4S, but it's also noticeably thinner and lighter. I also went from a 16GB phone to 64GB as I have a LOT of music and wanted to get it all on the phone rather than just switching out portions of it.

A wooden case is soooo unusual & pretty! Nice. BUT it will add to the weight of an already pretty heavy phone, if getting the 6+. The Otterbox adds to the size. I've always had an Otterbox...even with my 4, so I'm really biased. I see the pretty cases out there, and tempted, but...I know me....I'm a klutz & it has saved me several times throughout the yrs.

Also...talking on the 6+ is not as comfortable as a smaller model. But I use my earbuds.

Lots of things to think about. But just like anything, you get used to what you have.

Re: Suggestions for an iphone...

I have a 5 and my daughter has the 6 - not the 6+. She loves it.

My phone isn't even 2 years' old. I usually keep my phone until something is really wrong with it. I use it so much - so many cool apps.

Re: Suggestions for an iphone...

The 6 was my first smart phone. It works for me, I like to slip it into a pocket. The 6+ was tempting but it would not fit in a pocket. My grocery list is in an app, as I walk around the store I put it in a pocket. A wristlet would also work while shopping for the larger 6+. I chose a 128 gig, I take lots of photos and the storage was a consideration. My husband upgraded from a 4s to a 6 and he is happy with the 6.

Re: Suggestions for an iphone...

Is size an issue for you? I believe the 6 screen is larger. I personally prefer smaller phones. I don't want to carry around a huge device that won't fit into pockets or my wallet easily.

I don't care for the Otterbox because it's way too thick and clunky, and stuff gets trapped under the screen cover.

I guess it all depends on what you are looking for and value in a phone.

I have the regular 6. I love it. It's definitely not too big.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

If you can, go to an Apple store and see the available models in person. I was surprised that the 6+ was not the monster I expected. It felt comfortable in my average sized hands. The 6 was not much bigger than the 5.

That sounds like a good idea.

It's about one degree here now and I was thinking about going to the mall and getting a pedicure...I can wander over to the Apple store in flip-flops.

I always make the same suggestion as Montana's. It's good to see the devices in person. I've used iPhones for almost 5 years (currently use iPhone 5) and I've always been extremely happy with them.
