I'm posting here since I couldn't find anything under electronics...
My seasonal job came with an iphone. I never thought I would want one....but I LOVED it! I asked someone at the Apple store and they said it was a 4.
Five and six are the versions currently being sold new.
Any ideas on which one to get? The six looks a little too big for me.
I want a phone that will last more than a year or two...I'm not one to change out or upgrade phones.
TIA!

That's the direction I am leaning right now.

If you can, go to an Apple store and see the available models in person. I was surprised that the 6+ was not the monster I expected. It felt comfortable in my average sized hands. The 6 was not much bigger than the 5.

I love my 6+, as well. It's clear enough to view w/out my readers. One thing I don't like...the Otterbox for 6+ doesn't have same touch as my Otterbox 4 model, but that's not an Apple issue...but a case for the larger phone is essential. Also..if you're tempted to text/drive, a larger phone makes it literally impossible...that should be a selling point!
It DID take a little bit to get used to the larger size, but now it feels normal. It's definitely a 2-hands phone...too large for a thumb sweep.

That sounds like a good idea.
It's about one degree here now and I was thinking about going to the mall and getting a pedicure...I can wander over to the Apple store in flip-flops.

What's an otterbox?
I think I'll bring a large wristlet with me to make sure the phone I choose will fit.

LOL, in 20 minutes?
I had an original 5 and loved it, would have been happy to keep it but the battery got wonky and wouldn't hold a charge (about 2.5 years in). Now I have a 5s which is the same size but a little "fancier" (fingerprint recognition, etc.) I don't like the size or thinness of the sixes. The thinness makes them very easy to damage...lots of reports of them getting bent, and the 6 Plus is way too big to be useful as a mobile phone. I can't even hold it comfortably in one hand, forget about wrapping my thumbs around to text. But it's also not big enough to replace my tablet.
Between the 5c and the 5s, what decided me was the memory available. I could only get the 5c from my carrier in 8G. My original 5 was 16G and I managed to fill that up without being a heavy user at all, so I figured it would be a bad idea to cut that in half. I also don't like the kiddy-looking design (rounded plastic case) of the 5c, but I could have lived with that because it would have been free
