Re: Suggestions for a hostess gift?

A small hardcover quote/thought book or a perpetual calendar.

$10 at Hobby Lobby (this is just one option - they have others)

Keep it simple. A nice box of chocolates in a gift bag with a note of thanks.

@honeybeagle - I would keep it really simple also. I am extremely hard to buy for (didn't use to be that way) and while a lot of the suggestions here are so nice, they just wouldn't be things I would like. So unless you really know what the hostess likes, I would keep it very simple as you suggested.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: Suggestions for a hostess gift?

I wouldn't do a candle because some people have headachs triggered by smells; flowers unless it is a small boquet in a vase; food--too many people are on some diet.  Nothing to display.

You've got wonderful suggestions above!  Have fun!  I especially like a little note pad--who can ever find paper?  LOL!!!!

What @honeybeagle said.  I, too, wouldn't care for a lot of these suggestions.  Unless you know your pastor's wife well, a handwritten note of appreciation and gift card (Visa, Wal-Mart, Amazon, etc.) would be thoughtful.  If you really desire to take a gift, like I said, unless you know her well, I wouldn't take candy (some people have diet restrictions), a scented product (headaches/allergies/personal preference for scents), tea towels (who needs more of those), etc.

Re: Suggestions for a hostess gift?

I would do flowers or a plant

don't give anything that she will have to find a place for or "house" and dust.

To some, this might sound rude but I think most people at our age or younger don't want more "stuff"

add a card thanks for hosting this lunch, etc

[ Edited ]

gift card at Panera or Starbucks or  eatery. Agree many people now a days are " down sizing  " and aren't into more collectibles .  Am sure many Pastor's come across  people who can't afford a cup of coffee or sandwich , so extra gift cards that people give as gifts could come in handy .

Re: Suggestions for a hostess gift?

I would go to Great Harvest or a local bakery and get a nice loaf of bread and jam, or a small box of muffins.
