@Free2be  I worked at an Amusement Park and noticed exactly what you describe.

People go on Vacation and seem to leave their brains at home!

ie:  There was a  thunderstorm and a man with his kid were standing under a lone tree. I explained that shops were open and to please go inside and please don’t stand under the lone tall tree, lightening can strike. He thanked me and was embarrassed that he didn’t think.

This Park discourages selfie sticks (they can be dangerous in crowds.) But if the Lady at the Zoo had one maybe she wouldn’t have been so close.

Especially younger people multitask so much that they don’t live in the moment.
