Re: Student killed

cimeranrose,

That was my point, and I agree with you wholeheartedly.

At this time, we need wisdom.  You try to protect the unborn, the 4-year-old with a terrible disease but no health insurance, the aged with chronic ailments and useless health insurance and children and young adults in schools and universities.

I do not want to be political, but I am an idealist and hope that certain disparate ideas can simmer down and try to protect all in our nation.

Yes, including the innocent unborn.

@cimeranrose, you do realize that your post is undeniably attached to a very controversial and political issue; right?

I'll take the higher road and not express my opinion since this board prohibits such discussions.

You are SO right. Please ignore the rude and nasty poster who reports everything to the mods. She condemns everyone who doesn't agree with her politics. Very closeminded. I love the posters  who are able to debate as adults, listening to all sides and then making fact based decisions. I learn so much from many of them.

You know what would please me but isn't going to happen?  Drop the political party names we now have to defuse many issues that keep us separated.

Give us a selection of four candidates. Candidate No. 1, Candidate No. 2, etc.

Each canddidate would have his or her major platform planks listed beneath his or her name.  There would be the same number of entries allowed for each of the four candidates.

And yes, the hot-button issue from each party would appear under two of the candidates who see things differently.  In other words, what you believe one of our two parties does not subscribe to would be included in the platform of one of the two "blend candidates" that are part of my fantasy.

Yes, this is a fantastical thought but one day might be realized.

ETA:  I failed to include that two of the candidates would represent the ideas of each of our two present political parties.  The traditionalists can stay with their tribe.

Somebody has to stop the madness.Saw on news a little boy from the school standing by his dad and told reporters 5hat he got his bat ready cause he wasn’t going down without a fight.Listened to a little girl sing the lockdown song about run and hide and don’t make a sound or you will be found.I was crying so hard that my jaw ached. The situation is beyond deplorable when our children know they arent safe at school.

@RetRN, whether you are referring to me or to any other poster, your comments are rude and not called for -- especially given that you so often inject YOUR politics wherever you choose, even if it's O/T.

I'll suppose, for the sake of argument, that your post is directed to me. I don't condemn anyone; I disagree with some opinions, as do you.  You are no less fervent in your beliefs than I or most others.

My mention of said Standards in no way means that I reported @cimeranrose 's  post. And neither you nor anyone else has a clue as to who might report. Frankly, it's nobody's business.

But if you do have an issue with me, then why the veiled insults? Hit me straight on, and I will respond point by point. That's what adults do.

Who know? We just might agree on some kind of detente that allows us to express ourselves in a thoughtful and straightforward manner.

There is much to say but I am not going to even try.  I pray actions will be taken by those in charge to do whatever is necessary to protect people.  I am tired of words and more words, I want action to stop this violence and madness, laws put in place.  All of our lives are at stake.

That's a good question, @esmerelda. From what I gleaned from googling, it is quite rare. I found a list of them on the Fox News site. Of the ones listed, some were shootings of one person.

Do you remember the song "I Don't Like Mondays" by the Boomtown Rats?
