in the school shooting at Colorado.  His name was Kendrick Costello and he was 18 years old.  He was scheduled to graduation in three days.

Beyond sad.  I first heard this as I watched the Today show.  I do like their policy of not naming the perpetrator.  I don't know whether they do use the name once other networks do, but I hope they stick to what I heard.  I'm a firm believer in freedom of the press, so I know their silence would have to be voluntary but I just don't see how that freedom helps anyone in cases like the horrid school killings.

So sad. I did not know this until now.

His family should be anticipating his graduation, not planning his funeral.

So very sad.  He tackled the shooter and was shot in the chest.  A true hero, not like the movie stars and sports athletics we tend to hero worship in this country.  May he rest in peace and may his family somehow find comport.

It is beyond sad; does this madness never end? When our chidren/grandchildren aren't even safe at school, it is beyond comprehension. May his family find peace & solace during this very difficult time.

@songbird he is a true hero and gave his life to save others.I hope that the media gives the story often enough for the country to see how selfless and loving, great and brave this young person was. What a loss.

Absolutely tragic, what a senseless loss of a young life

A Hero indeed. He charged at the shooter to give others time to escape & was shot & killed. A few others helped him or it could have been a lot worse.

He wanted to be a Marine. He would have made a good one.

I will never understand why someone would go into a school or any place else & start shooting people?
