I, myself love polished toes.  I tend to do it myself but sometimes treat myself to a pedi.

@PinkyPetunia  Well I'm only 68 and fortunately because I still run and do Pilates and yoga I don't have flexibility issues it's just cause I can't see them as well as I need to.

Like I said, it's all good and I may try a pedicure this summer just to say I did.

So we are here at the beach...gearing up for our cocktail/beer weekend with friends.  My very pregnant (due in 2 days) daughter says to me yesterday "are you going to the beach with those feet?"  Um ok it is not important to me that I paint my toenails.  I have never had a pedicure ever, mainly because they cost too much.  I said yeah why..."mom seriously, at least paint your toenails."  I think my nekked feet look good.  Soft, smooth and my nails are white and clean.

So here I am, on the porch on the end of a chair bent over at the waist with my nose almost to the ground because I cannot get close enough with my cheaters to see🙄.  My husband comes out and says what in the world are you looking for with your nose to the ground?  Then he sees what I'm doing.  This is too much trouble. I got nail polish everywhere, struggling to keep it neat. Looks like I may have to look into that pedicure ugghhh.

Here's the reason you should not polish your nails, fingernails and toe nails.

Nail polish and nail polish removers are carcinogenic.

When you go in to nail salons they wear masks and have fans to not breathe that ****** into their lungs.

I myself, like my toes painted.  One suggestion....instead of leaning down to reach, bring your foot closer up as another suggested.

I have an old coffee table that I put a towel on.  The sofa sits close so my foot is resting higher up and I am stable doing it.

I have always painted my toes! When I was younger i did them myself, now I get them done professionally on a regular basis. Love to have fun colors done!

My toes have been through the wringer throughout the years,,,,my big toes have lost nails through accidents and I have been lucky that they came back.....just not in their original conditions! So my nails are kind of an embarrassment on their own! Because of this, they are painted!

I used to do my fingernails, but dealing with horses on a regular basis, it isn't practical unless I go the artificial route. I am not intrested in that!

@bmorechick.  With all the beer and cocktails, I'd just count on everyone being too wasted to notice my toes and forget the pedi.

My daughter caught a bacterial infection at the nail salon.

Her hands and feet, tiny blisters and rash.

No thank you....I will self "cure" myself 😭

@bmorechick  Well, you gave me my best laugh today!  I'm right there with you. I've painted my toenails sometimes, but the polish never lasts, and there isn't much improvement anyway. Hey, walking in the surf and sand will improve your feet without any expense. Smiley Happy

My feet are so ugly, a bit of polish isn't going to help. I've gone barefoot every spring, summer and part of fall my whole life. I've got calluses I should really name. If I'd go in for a pedi, they would have to use a sander (like in Dumb and Dumber)

@Kachina624  Omg you never cease to elicit a burst of laughter!!!  You know you are so right... we will be out there until wee hours if weather holds and my feet will be of no concern to anyone...just hysterical!

@PA Mom-mom   Oh I bet your feet aren't that bad!!  Yeah sand scratches a pedicure badly.  It also dries out your feet so I'm constantly moisturizing and pumicing my feet to avoid calluses.  I have a few small ones from running, but they are still soft because I keep working on them so they don't get hard.
