I sure hope mine will be a direct deposit.....this is what happened the last stimulus check to me....IRS and Social Security had all the correct information aka bank account, address...for some reason and I still cannot figure it out as I called and they verified every thing was correct (IRS and SS) and for some dumb reason they mailed me a paper check....still nobody can give me an answer why they mailed it....it still boggles me, but I am so grateful...did come way later and was very much needed....hopefully I will see a direct deposit this time Smiley Happy

Yes, if you were already on direct deposit for IRS, you will receive it as a deposit into your account.

I read on IRS government site, you will receive your payment the same way it was sent before (i.e.direct deposit , paper check or debit card). So you will get a paper check or debit card.

Mine was in my account much to my surprise.  Husband is flipping mad cuz he got very little.  I am retired and have limited income, he is still working earning big bucks.  He said I should give mine to him.  Ha ha ha.  He's so greedy.  Does not believe we should get different amounts.  We should all get the same.  That's the tune he sings.

In my opinion seniors on fixed incomes should get the maximum amount followed by unemployed people.  It should be targeted.  Your wealthy husband should donate his check to those in need.

@Reever, Why should people who have some income get more than those who are employed? I don't get your reasoning. And it is targeted in that the more you make, the less you received; and you rightly get nothing if you make more than the highest tier.

@suzyQ3   It is my belief Government should take care of its seniors first and foremost.  In India seniors are cherished.  We have worked all our lives and paid more taxes than other groups.  Many are in need,  in debt and upside down on their homes. Many are frightened for the future.

@Reever   Many Seniors are financially loaded.  We have more money than any other group in America.  We have the purchasing power too.

Of course, some seniors are hurting.  Some young people who are still working are hurting as well.

It is not the governments job to take care of anyone.

I just can't t believe what a small amount this stimulus is. Does the government really think this $600.00 is going to make a difference for anyone?

300 less 10% held out for taxes. Not that much for unemployed people who have lost their jobs due to shutdown or laid off permanently due to Covid19. My company where I worked full time for over 6 years had to file bankruptcy due to Covid19 plus I lost my health insurance. 300 extra or 270.00 for me is nothing compute what I was making. Shutdowns have ruined lives.

They had mandatory shutdowns. Never should have done this. Millions lost good paying jobs forever.

I only got $451.20. That's about 25% less than $600 (roughly my tax bracket). I thought the stimulus checks aren't taxed. I don't owe the government anything.

Anyone else? I feel like I'm always on the naughty list.Robot Sad

DH read today that it's not taxes coming out, it's a % of 600.00 depending on what your annual income is.
