Re: Stimulus Money Deposited Into Someone Else’s Account

I finally got into the IRS’s website after 2 hours of trying to load it and found they have the wrong account number.

They put my account number as last 4 digits of my SSN. It was supposed to be deposited today but I have no pending transactions. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

I had no problems with the first stimulus. Anyone else have this happen?

Happened to my DD.

She checked around & she's probably getting a paper check or the deposit card in the mail.    Not sure why, she received her first stimulus in her personal bank account, also her tax return came to the same bank account.    She's made no changes in the past year.   The 4 digits shown as her bank account was not hers, neither was it the last 4 of her SS

Re: Stimulus Money Deposited Into Someone Else’s Account

No problem getting my $600 over the top stimulus check, had it in my account Saturday, pending of course until yesterday business day.

Wow - my mind is going WILD with ALL I can do with my hard earned tax dollars that I pay to the gov'ment that they are GIFTING  BACK to me.

I will say I am so glad I am not a family of five - OR MORE - with spouses who lost their jobs almost a year ago now. In this day and age $600 will not even cover a mortgage or monthly rent let alone a stack of bills, a grocercy store trip or maybe a leftover Health Insurance bill that was suppose to cover A CANCER CHEMO INFUSION so desparately needed.

I saw this earlier from H&R Block.

The IRS Get My Payment website may display an account number you do not recognize. If you took a Refund Transfer, it may be reflecting that account number. Check your 2019 return to confirm. But don't worry- we have sent those payments on to the method you chose for Refund Transfer: direct deposit, check or Emeral Card. The money should be there by the end of the day.

Re: Stimulus Money Deposited Into Someone Else’s Account

This happened to me. The IRS stimulus site is depositing the money into an account we don't have. The first stimulus was deposited with no problem, and we haven't changed our address or banking information all year. I'm not sure about the refund transfer.

We have a tax assistant center in our area, but trying to get an appointment with them is useless. Every time I call the automated voice says that because of high demand, they're unable to help us.

So it looks like we might get a check, debit card or nothing and will be declaring it as credit on our tax forms instead. At least we're OK financially and don't need the money anytime soon.

@PINKdogWOOD Each dependent gets $600 also.  My DGD got $2,400, $600 for her and $600 for each additional child.

As it should be but it is only me and my husband for a whopping $1200.00.  Luckily we own our home, we owe money to no one, no bills, no debt. We spend wisely as we always have yet live as we so choose.

Re: Stimulus Money Deposited Into Someone Else’s Account

I have since the 70's and my first tax return gone the way of a check in the slower than slow snail mail.  Do the same still.  I prefer to put all tax refunds/stimulus in savings/retirement so waiting longer for delivery is fine.

I know it wouldn't be feasible because of time constraints, but I wish that the money could go first and foremost to those in need.

I agree that money should go to those in need, and also why it can't be done. A problem  with that is what defines "need"? That implies too many things and different opinions on what the term means.

BTW I got the deposit. H &R Block sent me an email stating that because we had the service paid out of the refund, it was sent to that numbers account through refund transfer. It was finally sent to our checking account.
