Good question kdgn. I don't know the answer.

It is a major win for ASU. This plan will generate more jobs at ASU which will in turn benefit the local community. Not to mention, providing an educated workforce.

They will end up cutting everyone's hours. I don't really like their coffee, so I don't shop there.

Follow the story then as it progresses. Cutting the hours does not seem to be the company style at all.

Nope, not their style at all. They even provide health care for all employees who work at least 20 hours.

And some individuals may opt to cut back to part time hours on their own. If their education is being paid for, they may opt to attend college full time and work part time. They can finish college sooner and not have to worry about working all of those hours to pay for college. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

Hckynut I agree!

I am in the midst of looking for some SKILLED trades to do a lot of jobs around the house that my disabled husband can no longer do.

I cannot FIND anybody who is really willing to do the job ..it is either too small..they don't call back...etc.

The price for a plumber was shocking as well as tree removal etc. All prices we were willing to pay for decent competent work...

I say HVAC, electrical, plumbing, automotive..should all be included too!

Have you tried Angie's List? That's where I get all of my repair people.

It is very difficult for people in the trades to find employees to work for them that can pass the drug tests for employment.

Companies like this have to make up the loss somewhere. Again, I don't really care how they run their business because I don't care for their products.

They don't - this is a tax write off - the employees are getting it instead of the government.

Yep, and on the Phoenix news right after the tuition report they announced that Starbucks will be increasing by $1 their lattes etc.

Don't see that happening.

after college, my daughter worked in different. management positions---the last was a team of 100 who traveled separate cities to open new stores---she said the training she got in Human Resources, finance and restaurant management were worth at least a Master's degree---she worked for the corporation for 14 years---when she left during the crash of08, she found herself in demand at all types of businesses I'm referring to Starbucks for 14 years

ITA on this one. Not everyone is meant to work in an office setting anyway. Everybody is majoring in computers: Where are the skilled tradesmen?
