I haven't read all of the responses-- l've never seen SO many in 48 hours! IMO Starbucks is overrated and overpriced. l could never understand what's the attraction of waiting in line for a small, flavored coffee for $5. I much prefer Dunkin' Donuts, and l would say that even if Starbucks' prices were competitive.

"get a life, its just a seat, make your own coffee, and of course plain red cups".  Jugement is still rampant here.  OP and myself and some of the others expressing themselves are only concerned about people that camp out for hours a day and treat the place as an office all day everyday.   (You cant share a tiny table with them unless they are going to put me on their payroll.). You cant bully my observations and experiences out of me.  BTW my SB located in a Safeway will talk to these abusers when you tell them, which i am not alone in doing.

I'm kind of a coffee wimp.  Starbucks is too strong for me; even the light roast (or blonde, or whatever they call it.)

I prefer DD too.  

And just to chime in on the argument at hand; I could never sit and nurse my coffee for hours when others are waiting for a seat.  It just doesn't seem right to me even though these places encourage you to hang out so you keep buying coffee.

If I were seated at a table at Starbucks, finished with my coffee and just web surfing or chatting with a friend, and saw others standing with fresh cups looking for a seat, I would vacate mine. I just would. Whether or not Starbucks structures their stores to encourage hanging out for endless periods to me isn't the point; it's simply the considerate thing to do. I would hope others would show me the same consideration. Isn't that how the world should work?
