An unexpected surprise this morning in Albuquerque with 4-6" of snow.  Looks like it was big, fluffy flakes and is so pretty.  It has moved on out of the area now.  Here's a photo of my backyard with my mini Aussie, Piper, who today will be called "Snowball".

Meantime, streets are a mess with I-40 completely closed West of Albuquerque and trucks backed up for miles.  Back to Spring and on to 55° by afternoon so it'll be gone fast.

No snow here @Kachina624 ... we were in Cave Creek, AZ for a few days...drove back yesterday...the wind was outrageous.  Went thru Gallup and no snow ...blue skies but terrible winds.... all our snow is gone here...it all melted while we were gone.  The winds helped.  Calming down this morning...DW

Wow what a big fluffy snow.  Love seeing snow like that as long as it is fleeting and not so heavy as to take down power lines and tree limbs.  Thanks for posting @Kachina624.  We have heavy rain here in upper SC right now.  Pretty dreary looking....

you all sure need it, your in worse shape then Amarillo, drier then a bone over there. No green any where , flat roofs on all the houses. Didn't care for that area.

Re: Springtime Surprise

@SharkE   That's called Pueblo style as it mimics the way traditional Indian villages were built.  There's a variety of housing styles in Albuquerque but Santa Fe has a city ordinance requiring that all buildings be built in that style, even Wal-Mart.  My house has a peaked roof and shingles.  The Pueblo style fits in perfectly with our landscape in shape and color.  It seems very appropriate here but not necessarily other places.

By the way, my house in Texas was built in the Pueblo style.  I prefer it except the flat roofs are hard to maintain.
