It seems like a few months ago a few of you were complaining about Spectrum internet. Was that the right company? They have just buried Cable in front of my house and left a card on the door describing their services. I am 100% satisfied with my current internet provider and the price which is not gone up in the four or five years I've been with them. I'm thinking I should stay where I am. What is your thoughts on Spectrum. Sure, my internet could be even faster but I'm not unhappy with the speed that it is now. And I'm surely not unhappy with the $54 a month unlimited usage and no throttling down.

If you only pay $54 a month for internet, then definitely keep it!  I have Spectrum internet, and I pay $89.99 a month.

WOW!  I pay about $330 per month for Optimum - internet, TV and phone.

@monicakm We are not a fan, at all, of Spectrum. Wish we had more cable company options. Spectrum is our only option at both of our places. I highly recommend keeping what you have currently. Spectrum is very expensive.

We have found customer service in Hawaii is awesome, just very pricey. Spectrum customer service in the San Diego area is awful. One rep tells you one thing, the other rep tells you something else, you get the run around and the prices continue to increase, regularly.

Internet service prices vary depending on the speed. Faster usually costs more. Not everyone needs high mbps. The number of devices/activities you use in your house will determine how much you really need.

ETA-

In my area Spectrum doesn't have service here but there are several other companies, some local-based, that service my area. Many are new fiber companies that have moved in recently and they are competing for service...prices are pretty darn low for starters, $50 for 500 mbps or $65 for 1,000 mbps.

I have Spectrum for my cable, internet and phone and I pay about $330 a month (it keeps going up). If I were to drop the cable and phone it would run about $79 a month so you are getting a very good price.

As far as the internet service goes, I can't complain. I work hybrid a couple days at home and my niece is fully remote. There's five of us here with cell phones, laptops and tablets and we haven't noticed any problems whatsoever.

@monicakm  I do not advise switching to Spectrum. They are expensive and the customer service is lacking, imo.

I have Comcast Xfinity and they aren't any better. My internet goes down at least once or twice weekly. It's not just for a few minutes either but for 30 and 40 minutes each time and sometimes longer.

If you have an option for anything else I would not recommend Spectrum!  I have internet only and I was looking over my statement and noticed they were charging me for TV cable, I couldn't believe it!  About a month ago I had called to see if there were any good deals for cable TV.  There wasn't so I said okay forget it I'll stick wit what I have.  Well someone signed me up I guess.  So, for my inconvenience they are giving me the highest speed internet for the same price as I'm paying now which is $91.99 a month.  Do I believe it?  We'll see!

@SilleeMee

I just learned that my Spectrum internet - 300 mbps - is good, but the service seems identical at 100 mbps!

I figured I could go back to 300, but all I can say I wish I'd tried 100 sooner!   Saving about $40 a month!
