Winter's coming.  The hot place doesn't sound too bad.

Grrr is right!

I had to laugh a couple weeks ago when one of their visitors parked in front of the house on the other side of them.  The woman who lives there blew her leaves onto the car.  Made me LOL.

And yes, one of the visitors likes to park where I put the trash bins out.  DUH!!

Now you hit my peeve with my neighbors.  I will have my car parked in my driveway.  My neighbor will mow his grass and he doesn't use a bag or a mulcher so the grass blows everywhere.  One day I left my car windows open and the inside of my car was full of grass and the outside of my car had grass all over it from him mowing.  He uses a rider.  I was not a happy camper.

Now I don't leave my windows open anymore but my car will often have grass all over it.  Or we'll do our lawn, clean the driveway all up and he will mow later that day or the next and our driveway will be covered with his grass.

When we get our grass on our neighbor's drive on the other side of us, DH cleans her driveway off.

STICKY GRASS!!!  I hate that!

I get caught at my office a lot, in the parking lot, which is bordered by a field, when the mower guys come.  The people I work with think I'm a little nuts when I fly out the door hearing their mowers and weedeaters fire up so I can move my care before the STICKY GRASS covers it!!!

@QueenDanceALot  I'm going to straight to heaven (Smiley LOLSmiley LOLSmiley LOL) so I wouldn't know.

But I'm sure St. Peter would say, "Why not?  Go grab a drink and perch yourself on the beach.  We'll call it even after a few weeks"  Smiley Wink

This is my problem....I don't mind their grass, but my neighbors have yards full of weeds. They cut as short as they can to keep from having to mow and the weeds have taken over.  The kind with sticky seeds.

When they mow their weeds, they throw all the seeds into MY yard.

I have a doxie that stays in my yard so I try to take care of it so we can enjoy our yard!

@Zhills ....   I could have written this ... my neighbors on both sides!  My husband tries everything he can think of to ward off their seeds, but it's a losing battle.

Re: Speaking of Neighbors....

Have you actually asked them not to park in front of your house?

I didn't see that in your post, so forgive me if you have and I missed it. If you haven't, then you're getting mad at people for not being able to read your mind about what makes you mad. That's not fair to them or to you. If it makes you mad, ask them nicely not to do it.

Leaving cones out if you haven't talked to them is passive aggressive.

Re: Speaking of Neighbors....

You could tell a little white lie and tell them you saw someone trying to break into their car. They might want to then park it in front of their own house if they believed you. Although, it could backfire and they keep it there because ySmiley Happyou might observe better.

Yes, it would bother me.  It is inappropriate and I feel kind of like they are just doing that for the express purpose of being rude.  You know?  Like they go out of their way to be rude.

Re: Speaking of Neighbors....

[ Edited ]

When I moved into my prior house the neighbors across the street had a HUGE van that they parked directly across from my driveway. The street was tight.

I asked her politely if she'd mind parking it a few feet up so as not to be directly across. That turned out to be an ice breaker and we had a nice friendship until she and her hubby moved. There were times though when her hubby would still park the van across from my driveway but not as often.

That house was on a corner and for most of the years I lived there the curb right in front of the house stayed mostly vacant (I used my garage). However, there was a tenant at another house that for whatever reason decided to start parking there regularly. One day I was having a furniture delivery and had to leave a note on her car to tell her not to park there. She complied - for that one day. A few months later she moved.

The next door neighbor would seasonally park her car on a portion of that front curb because the tree droppings messed up the car paint. I looked at this way: with her car parked there it made it look like someone was home at my house.

I had other problems with her though.

And for the poster who complained about a neighbors dog poop - I lived in another house for 11 years. It was great except for one 2 year interval when a couple moved in next door and I'd catch her taking her dog on my lawn and yard to poop. That got really ugly. The hubby apologized and fenced in their yard but she still let the dog run loose and poop on my yard. I got so mad that I picked it all up into a bag and left it on their front porch. We had words. They eventually moved and I lived in that house peacefully for another 5 years.
