We seem to be on every spam phone list.

We have had trouble with our landline phone since the end of August. It goes "no line" frequently and no rhyme or reason -sunny day or rainy day; windy day or not windy day. We didn't really care because 99.9% of our landline phone calls are spam. And if friends/family wanted to talk to us, they used our cell phone numbers.

But it seemed when the landline was working we would get phone calls starting at 8 AM. We never answered. Aren't unsolicited phone calls supposed to start at 9 AM?

I am so tired of all the spam calls - I now like it when our landline is not working.

@drizzelllaThis is one of the main reasons we gave up our landline last summer--and it's been wonderful! We did not get one single campaign call during election season. We do still get some spam calls on the cellphones, but those are easily silenced. If I don't recognize the number and/or location, I just don't pick up and I can push the button on the side of my phone to silence it. I figure if it's important they'll leave a message.

If you can get rid of your landline, I highly recommend it!

Just wait your cell phone will soon start filling with those calls too. Every day I am blocking a new number. Then the company calls back again with a new number (same area code and prefix but new last 4 of the number). Very annoying.

I would keep the land line unplugged or cancel if you never get "Real" calls on it.

I never wanted to give up our landline. "I love the landline. I am never giving it up. I have always had one and will have it forever". I was firmly in the land of of the landline holdouts.

Summer of 2021 I had it disconnected and after about one day of wow, I don't have a landline anymore. I don't miss it at all.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

@drizzellla................Is there a reason you are keeping the land line?

Just today I got 3 spam calls before 9 AM. I am so sick of them.

We keep our landline so that our cell phones aren't getting all these calls. Guess because our landline was out of service the past week that we are getting all the calls we "missed" while the phone wasn't working.

This last 6 months have been really bad. Between the elections and medicare sign up it's been brutal. We use Ooma and made a list of phone numbers to allow and everyone else gets blocked unless we allow them. Works great.

I have Verizon and I have it set to block spam. The program doesn’t allow my phone to ring if the person is not on my contact list.

Yes, some places when you are checking out want you to give a phone number.

Or even if you talk to a salesman they want your phone number.

We get calls from lawyers about the Camp Lejeune lawsuit. My husband was never in the Marines or Camp Lejeune.

And the car warranty calls never seem to stop.

Most calls just hang up so you don't know why they called.

We don't want our cell phones cluttered with all these calls.

We have Verizon too. But I do not have any confidence in them. We have had trouble since August with the landline. We have had Verizon repairmen come out and "repair" the landline. Only to have it go "no line" a day later.

I will look into it.

But we have been "no line" for over a week. Today is the first day we have a working landline. Guess that is why we are inundated with calls.
