@croemer wrote:Makes me suspicious. Does anyone else get on your feed... pictures of disabled children or adults with a message to type Amen to show support and help the person feel better etc? I keep thinking it may be a scam of some sorts? I am skeptical...maybe this is a way to capture your information or something? Love to hear what anyone else thinks.
Hi Croemer,
Yes I see them all the time. But it's usually because one of my friends always types Amen because she has a good heart and it usually says "don't just scroll past this, type "Amen"" and because it's a public post she's responding to, automatically all of her friends then see it in their newsfeed ---and it's always a child with cancer, etc. I suspect it's a scam artist who wants to target and prey upon anyone who types Amen by asking them for money aka "GoFundMe."

Yes that is exactly what is going on...I have a cousin who clicks on those things as well and they come to my feed. I need to warn her!

There are ad-type entries that FB causes to be put in your feed that they think you might be interested in, based on other interests you've displayed or talked about in your page or what people have sent you. It's the same sort of targeted advertising that is everywhere on the internet, no better and no worse, and it's definitely not unique to FB. It is mostly spam, but it's the "price" we pay for FB being "free." You should be able to click in the top right corner of the post and get a choice to "hide advert." It will hide the ad and asks you why you want it hidden - gives you choices why. Unfortunately that has minimal effect :-(
And yes, you will see what your Friends have Liked in their Feed - not always your/my cup of tea ;-(

I see that stuff all the time. At least I used to. More and more, I've started blocking some of my friends posts from my feed. There are a few who love reposting everything that comes their way - the sappier the better.
Or the ones that try to use guilt to get more clicks/likes. They usually say something like "If you do not like this post, then you aren't a real American. Or real Christian. Or "if you are really my friend, then you will pass this on".
If you do not click on like and share, then you are guilty of not caring about whatever their cause happens to be. "Like if you hate cancer". " Like and share if you are against murdering innocent baby bunnies". "Like and share if you love your kids".
If I am unable to block those posts from my wall, I just unfriend those who repeatedly post that stuff. And I'm not sorry. My value as a person is not determined by my refusal to "like and share".

TY you guys...I am going to see next time if I can block these.

Hey @croemer, I don't have the answer to your FB question as I can't say I have experienced this (or just didn't notice) but I just wanted to say hello!!
