LOL - also note to self: do not post when a well-known person goes to the hospital. And if said person dies, shut up! ![]()

I hate to admit it, but sometimes I do read the latest news here. I don't like to watch the news anymore.

If you don't like a thread, don't read it or post on it
Just trying to figure out why, nothing wrong with asking!!

I have to ask... Do you wonder why the same report is in the newspapers or is a headline online?
Some people are interested, it's as simple as that.

We recently had a young lady die in our town of a heart attack. No one ever knew she had heart disease. She was preparing for a trip to the beach with friends and while packing her suitcase, fell ill and dropped to the floor dead. She was 16. I not only felt compassion for the family but was moved by it. This affected a whole community. Following autopsy and drug testing to prove there was nothing nefarious about her death, her siblings and parents were brought in for testing which proved that another child in the family had the same heart disease, neither of whom had ever suffered any symptoms. I don't know that every death affects me that way but there are certainly those that do. I hear of people dying every day and very often I want to share my feelings with others. Is that strange to some? Well, so be it. If it is strange to you that I might want to post that for a sort of relief of my anxiety about this situation, I am sorry.
Rarely do I post about the death of a famous person as that has already been done. I am really not in a race for first place obituary poster, but I do often feel some kind of sympathy for the family and compassion for the loved ones who are left behind regardless of age. There is a bit of human kindness in me that speaks to my soul.
I disagree in terms of people posting about things that adversely affect or move them. I think many posters are like town criers. They want to be the first to let everyone know. Hence, a post upthread about a race to see who can post first.
^^^yes exactly, town crier!
Those others posting that other people need more constructive things to do are here posting on the same topic!

@QueenDanceALot, my grandpa used to do the same thing. He would tell me he was making sure he wasn't in there.

@IMissSuperPoke I agree morbid.I don't like all of the dead person topics...just seem to be too many and I find it so sad to read about it.I just wish we could talk about more things that don't get poofed so we could quit counting up all of the deaths each week.

NAT: I think you have totally missed the boat. If people don't post about that which moves them or affects them, they obviously have a flat affect and might as well be caged and sent off to an island to think and write until they find themselves.
