Re: ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿฟ Social Security: Top 12 Things To Know ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

Unfortunately, half of my life has been spent in a profession that does not participate in social security taxes.  So the windfall tax will apply and I will only receive half of the amount I would have received.  I did contribut to SS the other half of my working days.  Grateful that I have other income resources.

In 17 years Social Security will not have sufficient funds to continue as is.  That is so painful for our generation, as well as our children and future generations. It was set up to be on-going for everyone. Would like to see changes made immediately! Cannot say more or this will be deleted as political.

Thanks for this. Very informative. Question: if someone is now receving SS Disability, when he or she turns 65, will they continue to receive their SS disability PLUS a SS retirement check? Also, does anyone know how long a person has had to have worked in order to receive SS retirement?   Thanks for any help.

Disability benefits are converted to retirement benefits when the beneficiary reaches full retirement age. That age isn't the same for all.

You need 40 credits (10 years of work) to retire if you were born in 1929 or later.
