I think there's a lot we still don't know. Putting him on trial could backfire on some very important people. I don't know all the facts, but it's a krap shoot for me. My opinion right now is I don't care either way. The damage has been done.

He's probably bored out of his mind in Russia. No good TV, probably doesn't understand the language well, isn't privy to any Russian secrets like he was here, lousy food, no sports teams that he's interested in. {#emotions_dlg.lol} (All said with tongue in cheek, but it's probably true to a certain extent). In other words, he probably has a new appreciation for his former country that he did so much damage to. I don't feel sorry for him.

I think you have a point. I'd assume that what he leaked would have to come out, if only to dissect it to see how sensitive the material was.

Isn't that when they do a military trial? So the info can stay in-house?

Let him stay there. He made his choice by moving country to country, seeking asylum. No welcome mat need be rolled out here for him.

I think he should come back to face trial. FYI I don't feel a certain way either way and really didn't follow it enough and am just speaking on what I know.

BUT I have a journalist family member (through marriage), who agrees with Snowden.

My granddad was an army JAG and it might not necessarily be able to stay in house due to the notoriety of the case.

Thanks, Lila! Maybe it would also depend on the sensitivity of what he released.

The governments involved probably already knew what was released and there really wasn't much of an uproar, except here. He'll become an example of what not to do. That's jmo.

I hope he does become an example of what not to do.
