Smoking neighbors

I would like some opinions....I got some new neighbors last summer and discovered they and their whole family and friends smoke. They sit out on their patio at all hours of the day and night and smoke. Of course, since I don't smoke, all the smoke comes my way. I have to close my windows and sliding door and can't enjoy the nice days. I can't sit on my porch and read anymore.

She seems to be nice, but am not sure about him and I'm thinking of asking them to please not smoke outside. Think it would work? I know, all I can do is try, but I don't want any trouble. I'm not a very aggressive person, but I sure miss my outdoor time in the nice weather. Anyone else ever have this problem? Thanks.
