Re: Small car suggestions please

@saltysails  That is important to me as I am a munchkin!  I am going to go browsing at the Toyota Delaership tonight to get requainted.  I forgot about the Corolla. I will check it out.

@webbgarner1I loved my Echo and my Tercel.  Ran them both into the ground after more than a decade and have nothing to complain about.  My sisters had Hondas they ran into the ground as well so you are spot on with where my head is.

I looked at the Honda Fit five years ago when I was looking to give up my Echo but didn't like the interior and cared for the dealership even less.  But my eye is browsing their models as well.

in June my car was totalled by an idiot who ran a stop sign....wanted a small car....don't drive much.....my husband did his research and we bought a Toyota Yarus.....it does the job!!

@nana59  You are my girl!!  That's what I was really looking at.  Do you like it?  That replaced the two models I've had before.  I am really small so I like a small car and Yaris was my go to except when it first came out people didn't like it and I understood why.  So I stumbled across Fiat and went with it.

Five years later the Yaris' look really nice and their ratings came back up.  There is a new model that is suposedly a Mazda in disguise that was the Scion that now is the Yaris iA.  It might be too big for me but you've hit my tops on the list so far.  I'm glad there is one fan.

@dex  I've heard good things about Kia and someone else mentioned Hyundai.  My mom had a Hyundai briefly and really loved it.

Someone at the gym has a Kia Soul.  It really stands out.  Not sure I care for the boxy style though.  I might be too short for that car actually to bring the hatch back down.

I absolutely love the Honda Civic. We have 3 in our family. They last forever. Also Honda steps up when there is an issue that should not have happened & corrects it on them.A few years ago there was a problem with the engine in one of my cars. The car had over 62,000 miles on it. Honda replaced the engine with a new one,no hassles!!

@Laura14 yeah, I remeber the toyota tercel, that was a good little car too.

If you are interested in toyota, I think you will like the corolla, great little car, good on gas, good reliability. Seems roomier to me than the hondo civic.. The hondo fit is quite small and you can tell it is more basic.  Sometimes if you know there is a good quality dealership you can find a preowned model with say less  than 25,000 miles and same some money..

I had a Honda Civic for 14 years and loved it. It's actually still being driven and it's almost 22 years old! I've had a KIA Soul for 4 years and I love it, too!

@webbgarner1  That was the word for the Fit when I saw it five years ago.  Very basic.  I just looked up the Corolla and it's a really nice looking car.  I don't remember how big they are though.  I've never bought pre-owned but our Toyota dealership is really reputable and have dealt very fairly with us over the years.  I'll take a look and see if someone traded up and left a nice low mileage car.  I am really not looking forward to car payments again.

To be honest, I am seriously considering moving back home to NYC and just walking for the rest of my life.  These accidents have me spooked.
