I ordered Slatkin candles that were an advance order, they were to ship on Aug.2...called twice with no answers to why they haven't shipped yet. They have shown up for sale and in stock since.  Add this to the list of problems with QVC lately, never have I seen a company's service go so badly downhill. Other places that I shop on line are back up to par with shipping, so can't pandemic any more.

There are still lots of shipping delays. Businesses still need delivery drivers.
Both my Amazon Prime and Walmart orders have been arriving after the expected due dates.

Those items you are seeing as "in stock" might be advanced orders.  You wouldn't know they are advanced orders until you place an order.  Then it shows "advanced order."

 

Sometimes there's no way to know whether QVC has an item "in stock," physically available for immediate shipment, in their fulfillment centers before an order is placed.  

 

You also mentioned "backorder."  Does it say that or "advanced order?"

 

If you are seeing "backorder," I think they are selling without stock.  In other words, placing an order with the manufacturer, then selling it right away before the items are even made.

@LOLLI The Slatkin advance order may be delayed because Harry's company is having a difficult time getting the finished product to QVC warehouses from their manufacturer.  It's a problem many retailers are experiencing with their vendors.

There's hardly a day goes by when there's not something in the news about all the worldwide shipping problems. It's not just QVC that's having issues.

I like Slatkin candles...all good candles, but they are not a life sustaining item.

 

Just be patient.  It's just a candle.

 

All retailers WANT to make the sale but these are not normal times.

 

As others pointed out, shipping issues beyond the vendors control have caused many items to be delayed.

 

Our company had an order of sewer pipe delayed 6 weeks and then they couldn't find a truck driver to deliver it.

I have many Slatkin candles on order thru his website. When I recently asked when they would be delivered, his customer service people told me:

 

We are anticipating the first or second week of September. We are experiencing shipping delays due to Covid-19 and have a large volume of orders, so we cannot give you an exact date. We thank you so much for your patience.

I saw on the local news that there are shipping delays once again - this time due to some back up on cargo ships coming from China. I am not sure exactly what it was, but they did say to expect delays on items especially come the holidays. I have also noticed more and more of the on air items are advanced ship weeks. My guess is the orders are put in over a year or more ago but covid, and the shipping lane backup, and of course the larger problem is there is the shortage of workers.

 

But I do understand that Aug 2 is a long time to wait. I am still waiting to hear about a return I sent on August 1st and it took a while to get a shirt I orderd a couple of weeks ago. I usually don't mind the wait  but then I saw all these reviews posted while my order remained in process for awhile. I just wanted to make sure I was still getting it and it wasn't backorderd. 

 

Maybe on the shows the hosts should be more up front about the shipping situation and then people would be less upset when it takes awhile. I never receive emails about delays, even though I am told I was sent an email, so that can be really frustrating.

I always get emails about delays...is it possible you have your settings to not receive them?  Maybe check your settings?

 

I just got an email today my order was delayed again....I got it Monday!   LOL

 

 

I don't think QVC is going to have the hosts say there could be delays....that would hurt sales.  I have known when any order is on Advanced Order but I never consider an estimated date of shipping OR delivery to be gospel.  It is an estimate only.
