I agree about Gabby! What a poor sport! She would have never beat Simone. Can't see her happy with a silver medal. Glad Aly finally got her medal. She deserved it. I feel Gabby should have quit while she was on top.

Regarding Gabby.....I think she's disappointed that she has not performed as well as she wanted.  Nothing against her team  mates.  She's what?  Twenty years old?  She's not handling her disappointments well, it appears.  Hopefully, she'll be ok.  We put these kids on pedestals and expect them to always gracefully step down.  She needs time.

True that Gabby is young and disappointed. Guess she was true to her feelings. Sad thing is, I will remember her just sitting there while her teammates were happily cheering for Simone and Aly.

Yes, @AngelLove2, I saw that, too.  So sad.  She's going to look back at this with regret.  She's not there yet, unfortunately.

For me (and most of America I think depending upon your age) the hand-not-over-heart thing is a non-issue per se.

But combine it with Gabby's mopey-face during the Olympic trials, her mopey-face during the Games, and her obvious non-happiness at the wins of Simone & Aly, along with the fact that she just didn't perform to her 2012 levels (while Aly did), and this is one unhappy young woman who needs to be reminded what sportsmanship means - AND that hello, the *world* is watching you pout.

She was only actually there at all because Marta gave her the chance - by her scores she didn't actually cut it to make the team. Disappointed she couldn't be happy about just being there, and hold it together for her teammates.
