Silicone cups for hot drinks?

I need some new coffee cups/mugs for me, at home and the car. I'm seeing some silicone ones, with steel embedded so they don't collapse, yet are microwavable. I'm interested, but wonder how they would hold up, and if they would change the flavor of the coffee. If you've used them, I'd love to hear your experience. Thanks!

I've been wondering the same.............

Something about the word silicone and food that make me hesitate...........(in my unknowledgable mind only).

I don't know anything about silicone, but maybe others have more information.

I always trust stainless steel for hot beverages. (Not for microwaving, of course.)

Maybe I'll learn something new here.

@ROMARY Unfortunately, it looks like we won't learn anything new! For now, I'll stick with stainless. Silicone would be nice for microwaving, though.

We had silicone glasses which we purchased roughly 5 years ago and just threw away. First of all we didn't use them like we thought. They started as frosty white and yellowed over time. If you put a silicone mug/glass in the microwave it actually is still hot. Mind you these did not have a stainless steel insert. IMO stay away from the silicone and stick with stainless steel.

on viewyourdeal.com today they have half priced silicone hot cups in a 16 ounce size.
