NickNack, I shred anything with identifying information (name, address, etc) on it.  I tear the cellophane windows out of envelopes since we cant recycle those here.  I recycle the rest of the envelope or any paper which doesnt have identifying information.  We are not allowed to include shredded paper with our recycle.  I usually have one bag of shredded per week and usually throw the cat / dog poo in the same bag.

I usually wait too long in between shreddings and the shredder overheats on me so I have to wait until it cools down to continue on.

I shred everything that has our name and address on it, everything.  I even go to the center of catalogs to make sure our name isn't already printed on the order form.

If I have a sticky label I will put it in between something else.

I used to have that problem until I discovered ID protection roller stamps. What a life saver! They are perfect for the sticky labels and labels attached to plastic bags.

See QVC Item V36498. I am giving them as Christmas gifts.

@catwhispererI was shocked recently when using one of the ID Protector roller stamps to remove my personal information on a document before emailing it to someone.  After I scanned the document, you could clearly read right through the roller ink on the screen Smiley Surprised

That’s exactly what I found. No matter how many times you roll over the address, it can still be read right through the black ink!  I’m not really sure why, but that’s the end result. Mine was from QVC and it was a total waste of money. Good idea, but something went wrong in the execution.
