I’m lucky.  My lawn guy also shovels snow. I don’t even need to call him.  Besides shoveling he cleans off the car too.  He’s really great.

I can relate so I don't blame you. My husband shovels and uses a snow blower. But the other day we had a very light (an inch) snow and I was so sick of being cooped in the house. (I don't go out as much in Winter), i went out and JUST pushed the shovel (Didn't even lift snow) for the first time in many many years. My arms were like lead and my back hurt because i have a really bad back and I'm not TO shovel or lift heavier than a 1/2 gallon jug.

Moral of the story, i was thinking (pre back issues) how I shoveled our house, 4 neighbors houses front and back (I lived in the city then). Well all I did was get upset when I was done shoveling the little bit of snow.  My husband did it today after work because we had 4 more inches of snow over night. My shoveling days are over. Next time I feel cooped up I will just stand on the porch and breathe cold air and watch the snow! lol.

I just came in from shoveling, and I'm over it. I can't believe I used to actually enjoy it. Now t takes so long, because I take breaks. Sorry about the whining, but I'm going to put my feet up and have some cocoa.  ☕️ I had someone in place to take care of the snow, he was a no show. It gets harder and harder  to find folks to do it, and I pay well. Rant over, at least it is a sunny day.

I've BEEN over it!  THIS is why I hate winter!  If I could sit back and look out the window at the pretty, white pristine snow and not have to ever dig out another sidewalk, driveway or car, I'd think I died and went straight to heaven!

This stuff is all well and good when you are young and healthy, but when you are older and not in the best of health and your DH is even worse than you, it's no picnic!

We do not have the funds to hire someone expensive or a fancy service to do this for us.  We have tried to find locals, kids, etc. to do this less expensively or for a decent amount, but no one wants to do it --- not for love or money!

It's a burden, a struggle, a worry --- you name it!!!

Living now in upper MI my dh got himself a biggest and best snowblower to handle all the snow we get. Its paid off because we've been having a load of snow this winter and he simply walks behind this thing when removing the feet of snow. Its easy and enjoyable for him. You gotta invest in the correct machines.

Be careful out there with snow.  My Husband went out, we had a bad snow and used our snowblower, BUT when done he lifted it to put away.  Came in and said his chest felt tight.  Went into hospital that night and yes he died on Valentines Day....I miss him every day.

If you have a lot of snow get someone to do it for you.  I HATE SNOW!!!

@phluphy, I'm so sorry for your loss. Everyone, especially older people, need to be so careful shoveling the snow. As for getting someone to do it for you, I would gladly pay a kid if there were any kids in my neighborhood willing to do it.
