The NyDaily News has a story this morning about another tourist who died. If the trip were free, I wouldn't go until they figure out what is happening down there. Find some place else and enjoy your vacay.

We decided to go on the trip months ago when there weren't these constant, mysterious deaths.

Yeah, I’m not much of an alarmist but I do question everything.

And they’re not giving answers...or at least the type of answers

to give their visitors peace of mind.

There are so many other beautiful destinations during that time

of year.

Though, is any place without risk? No, but there will always be

that nagging thought in the back of your head until they

work all this out.

If anything....and this is really, really looking for a silver lining....

with so many cancelling trips, I predict DR, in a year/so,

will do a big ‘Come Visit Us!’ PR push...and it will be

deemed safe by reputable travel sites & prices will be better.

Just sit it out for a little bit.

It’ll still be there.

I would recommend that regardless of the current mystery deaths, DR is not the place to “explore off the beaten path.”

I have been to countries that some people warned me not to go there..

not safe. I went any way and it was okay..countries like China and Cambodia.

If I got a free vacation to the DR, I'd turn it down. No way would I go there.

Our local paper reported that 47 Jimmy Buffett fans got seriously sick in April. A total of 114 people went. What they all had in common was they swam in the pool and drank at the swim up bar. Some were so sick they couldn't leave their rooms.

So far six American tourists have died under unusual circumstance since the summer of 2018.

I would cancel and find another vacation destination.
