Benjamin Franklin was America's first postmaster.

Was he responsible for choosing the words "registered" and "certified," confusing people for centuries to come?

Re: Should I Sign for this Certified Letter?

@PickyPicky3  I love Informed Delivery. I've had it for years but it could be both good and bad. It's great seeing pictures of the mail that's due that day in your email.

Once I saw a picture of a letter from a law firm and couldn't wait for the mail to get here but it seems as if when you are anxiously awaiting for the mail, it's late.  Wonder why?

For me it was nothing to worry about when I read it. Just had to sign some papers because I was a witness to a will signing in NY years ago and the person had passed away.

Someone said you should not sign the letter and you should take it to the police. How is that possible? You have to sign it in order to get it.

Re: Should I Sign for this Certified Letter?

@Sage04   The poster just confused sign and sign for. That's the kind of mistake I'd make writing at 5:30 am.
