Re: Shopping is now a huge hassle

Practically every topical thread with more than 10 responses always has someone criticizing the original poster, saying that either their topic or actions are stupid or inappropriate. (With the exception of threads about deaths in the family.) Doesn't matter the topic.

If enough people respond, eventually somebody will pop up to zing the OP and/or their topic. I don't take it personally anymore when I see it. 10% of any group is going to have views I consider to be from Mars.

I'm another who says "Vent away!" Sometimes you just need to unload and get your aggravations out.

It's not hurting anyone and might be a relief.

I personally have always loved grocery shopping and go to Safeway once a week. I know most of the employees and always enjoy my trip, plus my pharmacy is located in the store so I don't have an additional place to drive.

We all need to vent sometimes.  I know a lot people enjoy shopping ... and this pandemic has added another unfair dig into their lives.

Well, at least you can save money if it's such a hassle.
I've had very few problems with grocery delivery and if I have they have been quick to resolve it.

Re: Shopping is now a huge hassle

I'm quite sure if I was up and about, I would have tons of complaints. Thankfully, I don't have the need or desire. I order grocery delivery once a week, order any other items online, and just pop into TJ's for a few items each week.

But then, I haven't been enthralled with on-site shopping, other than for groceries, for quite some time.

@Porcelain , You are so right, if I started a post saying water is wet, there would be an argument.

Even pre-COVID I didn't like going in and out of stores trying on items like pants.  I would try an online vendor like Land's End.

Stretchy bras are great for almost all occasions and no need for trying on🙂

It's the grocery shopping that gets me down.  I've noticed some shortages again and that worries me.

@Lali1, I went to a nearby nursery and brought home a few succulents.  That was an outing that cheered me up!

Well I went to the nursery. Not much in the way of anything but especially succulents. I spent $30 which is unheard of for me at the nursery. I'm not a big spender but plants are something I like to treat myself with. I'm still betting Walmart has a better selection. I just wish they would open that entry to people only buying in that section. I did see lots of Etsy shops with succulents so I may order from one of them. I walked around outside in this stifling heat with my mask on and thought this is the pits and stupid when no one was around me.

The first poster is right. It's hard out there right now

I've been put in a 'get out of the way' situation so many times that I hurried up to accommodate others behind me and ran off and left my wallet behind.

Now, you have to wear that stupid mask, wear sunglasses, keep track of your bag/receipts, purchases, keys, etc.  No wonder it's wearing on us.

Re: Shopping is now a huge hassle

@Mominohiowe live in the same state and I agree with you....

I'm in my mid-sixties and my face is breaking out on my cheeks and chin from wearing the paper masks. I am trying the cotton oness (like T shirt fabric) and they are so much better. My daughter wore them in Florida and said they were alot better.

I am lucky though...I don't need clothes, but finding certain brands of groceries is a challege. I try to buy brands we like, but sometimes that isn't possible....
